AU TOM’S LC500 WINS SUPER GT FROM POLE POSITION AT SUZUKA

The SUZUKA GT 300km RACE, Round 3 of the 2019 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series, was held at the Suzuka Circuit (one lap 5.807m × 52 laps) in Mie Prefecture on May 26. In the GT500 class, the No. 36 au TOM’S LC500 (Kazuki Nakajima/Yuhi Sekiguchi) went from pole position to take its first win of the season. In the GT300 class, the No. 96 K-tunes RC F GT3 (Morio Nitta/Sena Sakaguchi) continued its winning streak at Suzuka from last year, giving it its second win of the season.

The qualifying for the SUZUKA GT 300km RACE, Round 3 of the 2019 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series took place at Suzuka circuit (1 lap 5,804m) in Mie Prefecture on May 25. In the GT500 class the No. 36 au TOM’S LC500 (Kazuki Nakajima/Yuhi Sekiguchi) won pole position with a lap time of 1’45.775. In the GT300 class, the No. 25 HOPPY 86 MC (Takamitsu Matsui/Kimiya Sato) won pole position.

PAUL MILLER RACING KEEPS CHAMPIONSHIP FOCUS HEADING INTO VIRGINIA

The 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship has been a whirlwind season for Paul Miller Racing, and the battle for the GTD class title resumes this weekend at VIRginia International Raceway. With an impressive seven podiums in eight races, the No. 48 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 of Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow is leading the championship by 18 points with three races remaining. This weekend’s sprint race will feature the IMSA GT classes only, where 10 GTD and eight GTLM entries will compete for the next batch of valuable championship points.

BMW TEAM RLL READY FOR VIR AFTER NEAR MISS AT ROAD AMERICA

While the second half of the 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship can be exhausting with a race seemingly every other weekend, BMW Team RLL is looking forward to getting back to it at the Aug. 19 Michelin GT Challenge at VIR following a near miss of the podium’s top spot at Road America. Leading for almost the entire last hour of the race, the No. 25 M8 GTE of Connor De Phillippi was stalled by a fuel system issue within minutes of the checkered flag.

DOUBLE LE MANS WINNER PORSCHE TRAVELS TO SILVERSTONE

Silverstone hosts round three of the FIA World Sports Car Championship WEC on 19 August. After scoring a double victory at Le Mans, the Porsche GT Team travels to England leading the drivers’ and manufacturers’ classifications in the GTE-Pro class. A six-strong fleet of 510 hp Porsche 911 RSR will tackle the race on the 5.901-kilometre tradition-steeped circuit in the British Midlands: two in the GTE-Pro class and four in the GTE-Am class.
