DRIVEX SECURES GT OPEN PRO-AM CLASS WIN AND THIRD OVERALL WITH DEBUTANTS HAHN / AUER

Drivex managed to put an excellent end to the 2018 International GT Open season and, mainly, a promising performance for the upcoming 2019. Christian Hahn and Lucas Auer couldn’t have dreamt for a better debut in the series sharing the Drivex-run Mercedes AMG GT3 and the Austrian-Brazilian duo finished in third place the last race of the season at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Besides, they won the Pro-Am class. Their teammates Marcelo Hahn and Allam Khodair brought a sixth place home in the same race and, as a result, Marcelo ranked third overall in the Pro-Am class.

MIKKEL MAC IS 2018 GT OPEN CHAMPION

Mikkel Mac is the 2018 International GT Open Champion! A second, together with Alessandro Pier Guidi, was enough for the Dane of the Luzich Racing Ferrari, to secure the crown, beating Fran Rueda-Andrés Saravia (Teo Martín BMW), who finished fourth today. At the end of a fantastic season, Mac was clearly happy: “It’s a fantastic day, where we finished a job well done throughout the season, and I really want to share the success with the entire Luzich team, my team mates Pier Guidi and Cioci, because it’s the title of all of us”.

MAIDEN WIN OF THE GT OPEN SEASON FOR LAMBORGHINI THANKS TO OMBRA RACING AT BARCELONA

Lamborghini took at last its first win of the season, as the Huracán of Ombra Racing, entrusted to Damiano Fioravanti and Andrea Rizzoli won Race 1 at Barcelona, benefitting from the 5-second penalty (for incorrect position at the start) inflicted to the car crossing the line in first, the other Huracán of Imperiale Racing of Breukers-Agostini. Giovanni Venturini-Jeroen Mul, the leading pair of Imperiale, took second, but are definitely out of the race for the title.

A 32-CAR ENTRY AND MANY TITLE BATTLES FOR THE GT OPEN BARCELONA FINALE

The big moment has arrived: the 2018 season is about to come to an end! As per tradition, it is the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya hosting the final and decisive round. No less customary is indeed the fact that the title is decided at Montmeló. It has been the case in 12 out of 13 editions so far, including the current one, which will offer an exciting three-way battle. The overall crown is not the only one still at stake: the battle is going to be close and fierce also in the Pro-Am and Am classes and in the Teams’ standings.

CHRISTIAN HAHN STEPS UP TO GT OPEN IN A DRIVEX MERCEDES TEAMING UP WITH AUER

Brazilian driver Christian Hahn will make his International GT Open debut next weekend at the wheel of a Drivex-entered Mercedes AMG GT3. This event will be Hahn’s first attempt of GT3 racing after the 20-year-old driver spent two seasons involved in Formula 3 with Drivex. Hahn has now set his sight on following his father Marcelo Hahn into the International GT Open at the wheel of a Mercedes-built car.

MERCEDES-AMG TEAM BLACK FALCON SEALS ENDURANCE CUP TITLE WITH BARCELONA VICTORY AS MARCIELLO IS CROWNED OVERALL BLANCPAIN GT SERIES CHAMPION

The #4 Mercedes-AMG Team Black Falcon crew of Maro Engel, Luca Stolz and Yelmer Buurman took a superb victory in the season-closing Blancpain GT Series event at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya to clinch the Endurance Cup title in style, while Raffaele Marciello wrapped up the overall championship with Mercedes-AMG Team AKKA ASP.

Williams Barcelona Test One – Day Three

Today started with snow and finished with rain and track running was limited to one installation lap for Robert. We made good use of the time doing set-up tests in the garage, but it is disappointing when this is all we can achieve during a day. Now we are looking forward to the final day of this first test and hoping we can get back onto our planned programme.
