Brazilian driver Christian Hahn will make his International GT Open debut next weekend at the wheel of a Drivex-entered Mercedes AMG GT3. This event will be Hahn’s first attempt of GT3 racing after the 20-year-old driver spent two seasons involved in Formula 3 with Drivex. Hahn has now set his sight on following his father Marcelo Hahn into the International GT Open at the wheel of a Mercedes-built car.
Besides, Lucas Auer was confirmed as Hahn’s teammate at Drivex for the season finale. The factory Mercedes-Benz driver is contesting his fourth season in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. The Austrian driver has won four races in four seasons in the top-tier German series. Auer also has previous experience in the GT3 arena having clinched a triumph in the ADAC GT Masters behind the wheel of a Mercedes AMG GT3.
Hahn and Auer will fight for Pro-Am top honors on the team’s home track.
Christian Hahn: “There is no doubt it’s a great opportunity for me to address this challenge. But at the same time I feel confident regarding our chances to achieve a good result, even considering it’s my first start in the series. I have had good experiences in GT racing. For instance, I won several races in the Brazilian Porsche Cup and in the United States as well, where I clinched victories in the FARA. Besides, Lucar Auer knows pretty well the Mercedes AMG GT3, so we are heading into the weekend with high expectations.”
