Hot on the heels of a successful weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Lamborghini Super Trofeo, the team at Flying Lizard Motorsports switches gears to head to Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas for an action-filled weekend, adding a second car in the team’s Pirelli GT4 America to join the team’s three full-season entries in GT America powered by AWS.

From a rainy weekend in New Orleans to the sunny heat of Texas, the SRO America group travels to Austin for the next rounds of the sports car racing season, and Wright Motorsports rides in with the championship points lead. The two-car Porsche racing team has garnered two wins and four podiums to date so far in the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS, creating an eight-point lead over CrowdStrike by Riley. Meanwhile in GT America Powered by AWS, the team sits in sixth place after completing four of the six rounds to date. Circuit of the Americas (COTA) will host the next two rounds of each championship, with four races between Saturday, May 20th and Sunday, May 21st.

Seven Porsche 911 GT3 R fielded by six customer teams will fight for overall victory at this year’s 24-hour race on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife (20/21 May). The up to 416 kW (565 PS) GT3 cars from Weissach go up against 27 vehicles from six rival manufacturers in the top SP9 class. Of the expected 136 entries, the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer campaigns by far the largest contingent. A total of 44 racing vehicles from Zuffenhausen will compete in twelve different categories.

KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) is looking to continue the strong form it has shown in the opening rounds of the Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie (NLS) as the team finishes its preparation for this weekend’s ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring.

The Heart of Racing (HOR) will head to the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) May 19-21 for the next round of SRO Pirelli GT4 America and GT America powered by AWS competition. The series returns to the Texas track for the first time since 2021, as Gray Newell and the No. 25 Aston Martin team are chasing the championship lead and enter the weekend third in GT America championship points. 

The brand-new Porsche 911 GT3 R (Type 992) made an excellent racing debut in the Asia-Pacific region in the opening round of the 2023 Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS at Chang International Circuit in Thailand.

The 2023 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season began this weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and California team Flying Lizard Motorsports kicked off the new year with great success, scoring one pole position, one win, and a third-place finish with the newly expanded four-car team.

BMW M Motorsport enjoys a long success story at the Nürburgring 24 Hours (GER). This weekend, the BMW M4 GT3 takes to the track in the ‘Green Hell’ to add another chapter to that illustrious history. A strong contingent races in the top SP9 Pro category, with ROWE Racing, BMW M Team RMG and Walkenhorst Motorsport, as well as 14 BMW M works drivers. The goal is to claim the 21st overall victory for BMW, strengthening its status as the most successful manufacturer at the endurance classic on the Nordschleife. 

After a hard two-hour-and-forty-minute IMSA MOTUL Course de Monterey race today at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, BMW M Team RLL finished fifth and eighth in the GTP class. While both BMW M Hybrid V8 machines looked strong early in the contest, unfortunately a third consecutive podium result was not to be.

Porsche Penske Motorsport has achieved another podium result in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. At the wheel of the No. 6 Porsche 963, Nick Tandy from the UK and Frenchman Mathieu Jaminet secured second place at round four in Laguna Seca. In the GTD class, the customer team Kellymoss with Riley put in an inspired drive to clinch victory and third place. The Porsche 911 GT3 R fielded by Pfaff Motorsports brought home third in the GTD-Pro category.

Sunday afternoon at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the team behind the Wright Motorsports No. 77 Porsche put on an impressive performance in round four of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. After starting on the last row in 15th position, drivers Alan Brynjolfsson and Trent Hindman finished the two-hour and forty-minute sprint race in sixth place, earning their best finish of the season to date after taking delivery of their new Porsche 911 GT3 R.

WeatherTech Racing won today’s running of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Motul Course de Monterey Powered by Hyundai N at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

Tresor Orange1 played its strategy to perfection in the second of this weekend’s Fanatec GT Europe Sprint Cup races at Brands Hatch to secure a richly deserved victory for Mattia Drudi and Ricardo Feller, while Valentino Rossi took the chequered flag in P2 to score his maiden series podium. 

Anthony Liu and Fabian Schiller have won this weekend’s second Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS race at Chang International Circuit where a three-car accident with two minutes remaining brought proceedings to an early end.

Raffaele Marciello and Timur Boguslavskiy launched their 2023 Fanatec GT Europe Sprint Cup title bid in perfect style in today’s opening race at Brands Hatch, which saw the Akkodis ASP duo secure a lights-to-flag victory aboard their #88 Mercedes-AMG.

Fresh off of back-to-back victories at the 12 Hours of Sebring and Grand Prix of Long Beach, Paul Miller Racing will roll off P5 for the Course de Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) with Curb-Agajanian will start from the second row after setting the third-quickest lap in qualifying for Sunday’s Motul Course de Monterey, the fourth round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

BMW M Team RLL will start tomorrow’s IMSA MOTUL Course de Monterey from the seventh and eighth GTP class positions. With a qualifying time of 1:15.648 minutes around the 2.238-mile, 11-turn Laguna Seca circuit, Connor De Phillippi will start the No. 25 BMW M Hybrid V8 seventh. He will co-drive with Nick Yelloly, the duo looking for a third consecutive podium finish. Philipp Eng qualified the No. 24 BMW M Hybrid V8 in the eighth position after a 1:15.747-minute lap. He will co-drive with Augusto Farfus. Both BMWs qualified within one-second of the pole-sitting Porsche 963.

On the back of the first-ever win for the Porsche 963 at the previous round in Long Beach, the new hybrid prototype from Weissach has now notched up its first pole position: in qualifying at Laguna Seca, factory driver Matt Campbell dominated the qualifying in Laguna Seca at the wheel of the No. 7 car fielded by Porsche Penske Motorsport followed closely by his brand colleague Mathieu Jaminet. For the race, the Australian, who topped the time sheets in both practice sessions, shares the cockpit of the 500+ kW (680 PS) vehicle with Felipe Nasr from Brazil. Jaminet shares driving duties in the No. 6 car with Nick Tandy from the UK. In the GTD-Pro class, Klaus Bachler secured the best grid position in Pfaff Motorsports’ Porsche 911 GT3 R. Alec Udell from the USA achieved the same in the GTD category in the identical model campaigned by Kellymoss with Riley.

Prince Abu Bakar Ibrahim and Luca Stolz began their Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS campaign with victory in Race 1 at Chang International Circuit this evening after their Triple Eight JMR team took advantage of improving track conditions by stopping earlier in the pit window.
