DRIVEX PLAYS FOR HIGH STAKES IN THE GT OPEN WITH TWO MERCEDES CARS IN HUNGARY

Drivex heads to Hungary for Round 4 of the International GT Open and the Spain-based outfit is a hot favorite after its top results achieved by Marcelo Hahn and Allam Khodair with the Mercedes AMG GT3. As announced the past week, Drivex is doubling its efforts in the series and a second Mercedes AMG GT3 for Ricardo Baptista and Carlos Eduardo “Cacá” Bueno, two other top-tier Brazilian drivers, will be lined up.

There are just five days between the six-hour race at Watkins Glen (USA) and the start of the race weekend at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park near Bowmanville (CAN). Although the two IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship circuits are only around 300 miles apart, this is one of the most challenging weeks for the BMW Team RLL. This is particularly true for the logistics team, which delivers an outstanding performance between the two events.

OFFICIAL TEST DAY PROVIDES USEFUL DRESS REHEARSAL FOR THE 24 HOURS OF SPA

With more than 60 cars taking part, the Official Test Day produced an interesting insight into the cars and drivers that will tackle the 70th edition Total 24 Hours of Spa. Following eight hours of running in good weather, the quickest Total 24 Hours of Spa entrant was the #991 Herberth Motorsport Porsche, which just edged in front of the #23 GT Sport Motul Team RJN Nissan GT-R.

DOMINIK BAUMANN JOINS R-MOTORSPORT FOR THE 24 HOURS OF SPA

Today R-Motorsport announced that Dominik Baumann will join its drivers squad. The 24h of Spa-Francorchamps on 28th/29th July will be the Austrian’s debut in the Aston Martin Vantage V12 GT3 of the R-Motorsport team. Dominik Baumann is the latest addition to the Swiss two-car Aston Martin team. The first outing in the Aston Martin V12 GT3 will be at the Spa test day on 3rd July.

PAUL MILLER RACING SCORES FIFTH CONSECUTIVE PODIUM AT WATKINS GLEN

In sweltering conditions at Watkins Glen International, Paul Miller Racing earned their fifth consecutive podium of the 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on Sunday. Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow drove in one of the most physically challenging events of the season, bringing the No. 48 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 across the finish line in third place at the Sahlen’s Six Hour of the Glen. Having never finished outside the podium yet this season, the American duo continues to lead the GTD class championship by one point.
