Villeneuve – 48 interviews sheds new light on the Formula 1 legend through 48 illuminating interviews with his contemporaries and a stunning array of action and behind-the-scenes photographs, many previously unseen. Gilles Villeneuve, Formula 1’s last cavalier, lives on in the memories of his fans – his heritage all the more colourful thanks to Károly Méhes’ vivid tribute.

Károly Méhes became a fan of Gilles Villeneuve in his adolescence, despite living in then-communist Hungary. A motorsport journalist since 1990, he has published more than 20 Formula 1 titles, his most recent being Ferrari 70: a history of the Scuderia. Károly worked for more than a year on conducting the Villeneuve interviews in Maranello and at tracks on the Formula 1 circuit.

The volume of tribute includes:

• Memories from Villeneuve’s earliest days by friends and colleagues in Canada and the US.

• The incredible impact of Gilles’ arrival out of the blue.

• Personal stories and details from his sport director, race engineer, chief mechanic and technical director.

• Gilles the human being – stories from off the track, unforgettable helicopter trips and car rides.

• Fresh reflections on the infamous 1982 San Marino Grand Prix.

• Alongside all the praise, critical voices such as Sir Jackie Stewart and John Watson.

• The tragedy of Zolder: previously unseen photos and staggering reports.

• The legacy of a great little man – why Gilles remains a hero today, even among fans that never saw him race.

Villeneuve – 48 is published by Pitch Publishing, UK. For more information, or to order a copy, visit www.pitchpublishing.co.uk.
