ABINGDON, Va. — Veteran road racer Max Papis will drive the Martin-McClure Racing entry in Friday’s Finger Lakes Wine Country 100 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) Int’l.
Papis, who has competed in Formula One, IndyCar and NASCAR, brings with him a passion for road course racing as well as the experience of many laps around Watkins Glen Int’l.
He’ll wheel the team’s No. 13 with Matt Weber serving as crew chief. The team is co-owned by Eric McClure and Hal Martin.
“It’s great to be back behind the wheel of a NASCAR race car,” Papis said. “I’m looking forward to helping Eric and Hal as they develop their program and their goals of NASCAR team ownership.”
