The Porsche Carrera Cup GB, the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK, got off to a flying start at Brands Hatch with two exciting races. It was 18-year-old Porsche GB 2018 / 2019 Junior Dan Harper (JTR) who emerged from the opening weekend leading the Pro championship standings, Harper claimed Pole position, victory in Round One and a podium finish in Round Two.

Wet weather played a part in delivering a thrilling qualifying session at Brands Hatch, claiming the first pole position of the season was 18-year-old Porsche GB 2018 / 2019 Junior Dan Harper (JTR). Harper will start Round One alongside Pro-Am category runner Jamie Orton (JTR) at the head of a mixed up grid resulting from the slippery conditions. Am category Rookie John Ferguson (IN2 Racing) starts on the second row of the grid in third position.

The grid of 485 hp second-generation 911 ‘Type 991’ GT3 Cup cars get their season underway at Brands Hatch on 6 / 7 April, kick-starting a 16 round calendar taking place across eight weekends. The championship’s blue riband event will support the World Endurance Championship (WEC) at Silverstone this summer – underlining the championship’s position as part of the global Porsche Motorsport programme.

Dino Zamparelli (Redline Racing) overcame intense competition to claim pole position in qualifying for Round Thirteen of the Carrera Cup GB championship at Silverstone. In a quick-fire exchange of fastest lap times towards the end of the session, Zamparelli, Tio Ellinas (Slidesports Engineering) and 17-year-old Porsche GB 2018 / 2019 Junior, Dan Harper, ended Saturday’s qualifying separated by just 0.060s. Championship rivals Zamparelli and Ellinas will share the front row for the first of tomorrow’s races on a weekend that will prove pivotal in their pursuit of title glory.
