BRAZILIAN JOY AT HUNGARORING, AS KHODAIR-HAHN TAKE MAIDEN GT OPEN WIN

Allam Khodair and Marcelo Hahn took their maiden overall win today in Race 2 at the Hungaroring, at the wheel of the drivex Mercedes AMG. The Brazilian Pro-Am pair perfectly mastered the race, with Khodair setting pole position and leading throughout the first stint, and Hahn keeping everything under control in the second stint, to beat the Lambo Huracans of Rik Breukers-Riccardo Agostini (Imperiale Racing) and Edoardo Liberati-Kang Ling (VSR)..

CIOCI-SERRA TAKE MAIDEN GT OPEN WIN, THE FOURTH FOR LUZICH RACING

Luzich Racing conquered its fourth win of the season, with its new pair that debuted here: Marco Cioci and Daniel Serra. A long-standing contender in the series and a former class champion, the Italian (who took pole on the wet this morning) conquered his maiden overall win. So did also the reigning Stock Car Brazil champion, who is back to the GT Open ten years after his last appearance. The white-and-red Ferrari 488 beat in a thrilling finale the SPS Automotive Performance Mercedes of Valentin Pierburg and Tom Onslow-Cole that put an outstanding show, taking its fourth success of the year in the Pro-Am class, ahead of the Daiko Lazarus Racing of class leaders Fabrizio Crestani-Miguel Ramos.

SIX FERRARI CREWS ON TRACK AT THE HUNGARORING IN THE INTERNATIONAL GT OPEN

The International GT Open is nearing the half-season mark. As it has become customary, the turning point will take place at the Hungaroring, the twisty track on the hills outside Budapest that relaunched international motorsports into Central Europe three decades ago. The event, with its usual summer atmosphere and the splendor of the nearby Hungarian capital as an additional attraction, promises to be extremely attractive this year too with 27 cars entered for the event.

DRIVEX PLAYS FOR HIGH STAKES IN THE GT OPEN WITH TWO MERCEDES CARS IN HUNGARY

Drivex heads to Hungary for Round 4 of the International GT Open and the Spain-based outfit is a hot favorite after its top results achieved by Marcelo Hahn and Allam Khodair with the Mercedes AMG GT3. As announced the past week, Drivex is doubling its efforts in the series and a second Mercedes AMG GT3 for Ricardo Baptista and Carlos Eduardo “Cacá” Bueno, two other top-tier Brazilian drivers, will be lined up.

Audi delivered a dominant display during Saturday’s Qualifying Race of the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup in Budapest, as Dries Vanthoor and Marcel Fässler took the #5 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT machine to victory. Their performance capped another perfect day for them at the Hungaroring, which plays host to the fourth and penultimate round
