PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports won the 68th Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented By Advance Auto Parts, after a dominant performance last weekend at Sebring International Speedway. With this win, the team successfully clinched the Endurance Cup Championship for driver Simon Trummer. The LMP2 Driver Championship and LMP2 Team Championships were also awarded to PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports earlier this season, making this year the most successful in the history of the team.

On Friday, Patrick Kelly obtained the pole position with a dominant performance, making it his 6th consecutive pole position and the 7 th out of 7 pole position for PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports. During the race, the No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA LMP2 led all but 16 of the laps in-class during the 340-lap race.

Patrick Kelly – Driver of the No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA LMP2
“It is a bow of respect and thanks to PR1/Mathiason, Simon, Spencer and Scott! I could not imagine a better group of people to be with. Thinking back on the year I get a little sentimental – almost emotional. These wonderful people didn’t just win us a championship they brought happiness, joy and something to look forward to in what has been the hardest year of my life. Thank you – I will forever cherish the memories!”

Scott Huffaker – Driver of the No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA LMP2
“I’m very happy with the result. The team performed amazing all weekend and can’t thank them enough for all their hard work.”

Simon Trummer – Driver of the No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA LMP2

“I’m so happy for everybody involved. After the brutal finish at Petit Le Mans, this feels amazing! I would like to thank all the team for their hard work, and Pat for being a super teammate the whole year.”

Ray Mathiasen – Team Principal
“What a great finish to an awesome season for PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports. We had the dominant car at Sebring from qualifying P1 with Pat in the car once again to leading the race most of the way. This allowed Simon and our team to also capture the Endurance Cup, and provide the team with a full slate of driver and team championships for the 2020 season under some difficult circumstances. I’m glad everyone remained healthy all season. I want to once again thank everyone associated with our team. This was the most successful season for our team since Bobby and I decided to combine our teams over 10 years ago to race in IMSA events. We haven’t missed a year. It’s been absolutely delightful to be part of this team. I look forward to many more years together. Daytona is just around the corner!”

Bobby Oergel – Team Principal
“Lisa and I, are so thankful for the resilience and pure hard work the whole team here at PR1/Mathiasen has shown throughout this 2020 season. Winning all the driver’s championships, the team endurance championships along with the LeMans entry, was the goal for us and now we can say it came true! A huge thanks to our families, friends and partners, that have continued to support the team. The great efforts and driving, from Pat, Simon and Scott have made this year one for the record books and we so look forward to a successful 2021.”
