Cetilar Racing is set for the second round of FIA WEC seasonas theWorld Endurance Championship heads this weekend, 11/13 June, to the Algarve circuit for the 8 Hours of Portimão.

Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Antonio Fuoco are all set after they secured a LMGTE Am podium finish at the 6H Spa-Francorchamps opener, making their racing debut aboard of the AF Corse-run Ferrari 488 GTE machine.

In Belgium the Cetilar Racing trio secured P3 in the class over 11 entrants, driving the second of the Maranello’s cars and completing a positive weekend where the all made in Italy squad moved up from sixth to third.

his is the first time at the Portimão in the FIA WEC for Cetilar Racing as the same series didn’t visit this circuit last year and in 2019. Lacorte and Sernagiotto made their last appearance at the Algarve track in the 2018 European Le Mans Series round following the good fifth position they claimed in 2017 alongside Andrea Belicchi, who is now playing a role as coordinator.

“We probably face one of the most difficult and technical track of the entire championship, also in terms of physical fatigue and mental concentration”, Roberto Lacorte commented. “Traffic could be another key element, more than a long track like Spa. This is a new challenge for us in the FIA WEC.”

The weekend at Algarve gets underway on Friday with the first 90-minute free practice session. Two more sessions will be held on Saturday with qualifying scheduled at 18. The race will commence on Sunday at 11.
