TEAM ROSBERG AIMS AT THE DTM TITLE AND OPTS FOR ANOTHER YEAR WITH NICO MULLER, DEV GORE AND AUDI

With two-time runner-up Nico Müller and the further developed Audi R8 LMS evo II, Team Rosberg intends to be one of the title contenders in the 2022 DTM. The team, founded by ex-Formula 1 world champion Keke Rosberg, opts for continuity as the driver line-up remains unchanged. Alongside Swiss Nico Müller, American Dev Gore will again be racing the second Audi. The new season gets underway at the beginning of April with the official DTM test days at Hockenheim, the home track of the team based in Neustadt an der Weinstraße. The first races will be held from 29 April until 1 May at Portimão in Portugal.

THE NEW PORSCHE LMDh PROTOTYPE COMPLETES FIRST INTERNATIONAL TRACK TEST

The new LMDh prototype from Porsche Penske Motorsport has passed its first test on an international stage with flying colours. On the Circuit de Catalunya close to the Spanish metropolis of Barcelona, the vehicle covered more than 2,000 kilometres over the last few days. The focus of the test runs was to set up the systems, develop the tyres and optimise the interaction between the V8 Turbo engine and the hybrid elements as prescribed by the regulations. Over several days of testing, the new Porsche works drivers Felipe Nasr (Brazil) and Dane Cameron (USA) were among those who drove the ca. 500 kW (680 PS) car.

WALKENHORST MOTORSPORT AND SCHUBERT MOTORSPORT SET TO RACE THE NEW BMW M4 GT3 IN THE DTM

Walkenhorst Motorsport and Schubert Motorsport are the two BMW M Motorsport teams which will compete with the new BMW M4 GT3 in the 2022 DTM season. They will run a total of four cars, with the three BMW M Motorsport works drivers Marco Wittmann (GER), Sheldon van der Linde (RSA) and Philipp Eng (AUT) among those at the wheel. The season kicks off with the opening weekend from 29th April to 1st May at Portimão, Portugal.

THE NORDSCHLEIFE AND GT WORLD CHALLENGE EUROPE HIGHLIGHTS THE BMW JUNIOR TEAM 2022 SEASON

The BMW Junior Team enters its third year in 2022, and will be in action on two fronts with the BMW M4 GT3. Dan Harper (GBR), Max Hesse (GER) and Neil Verhagen (USA) will team up with BMW M Team RMG at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife (GER), as they look to challenge for overall victory at the Nürburgring 24 Hours. More highlights await the trio in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. There, the BMW Junior Team and ROWE Racing will contest five endurance races, with the highlight being the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (BEL). At the wheel of the second ROWE Racing BMW M4 GT3 will be BMW M works drivers Nick Catsburg (NED), Augusto Farfus (BRA) and Nick Yelloly (GBR).

GRT GRASSER RACING COMPLETE THEIR DRIVER LINE-UP FOR THE 2022 DTM SEASON WITH LAMBORGHINI

GRT and Lamborghini Squadra Corse are gearing up for their exciting new challenge in the DTM. The squad of four Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVOs will feature two further top-class drivers from the world of GT3 racing plus a newcomer alongside Clemens Schmid. Lamborghini Squadra Corse factory driver Mirko Bortolotti and successful Silver category ace Rolf Ineichen will remain with GRT in their 2022 DTM campaign. Completing the line-up is GT3 newcomer and Lamborghini Squadra Corse junior driver Alessio Deledda, who performs the switch from Formula 2 to DTM driving for the Austrian outfit.

MERCEDES-AMG TEAM MUCKE MOTORSPORT WILL AGAIN RELY ON SPACE DRIVE TECHNOLOGY IN THE 2022 DTM

When the Mercedes-AMG GT3 enters the DTM grid, one thing is different: The Space Drive technology carrier with the #18 has no mechanical connection between the steering unit and the steering gear. All steering signals are passed on electronically and information on the road conditions is fed back to the driver in real time. In the 2022 season, Mercedes-AMG Team Mücke Motorsport, together with Mercedes-AMG GT3 driver Maximilian Buhk, will continue to focus on technology development in motorsport and will once again work in cooperation with Schaeffler Paravan Technologie GmbH & Co. KG to further develop the steer-by-wire technology Space Drive under the extremely demanding conditions of the DTM.

SEVEN MERCEDES-AMGs IN THE 2022 DTM WITH DEFENDING CHAMPION GOTZ WITH STARTING NUMBER 1

Mercedes-AMG is providing plenty of variety in DTM: defending champion Maximilian Götz is changing the team, Maro Engel is making his second comeback and with Canadian DTM newcomer Mikaël Grenier, the long-standing series is becoming even more international. Only two drivers of the brand from Affalterbach will be racing in the new season for the same team as in the previous year: Lucas Auer and Maximilian Buhk. Between them, Mercedes-AMG Teams GruppeM Racing, HRT, Mücke Motorsport and WINWARD Racing are running seven around 550 hp strong Mercedes-AMG GT3s in the 2022 DTM that is getting its new season underway at Portimão in Portugal from 29 April till 1 May and includes eight race weekends.

ATTEMPTO RACING JOINS THE DTM WITH MARIUS ZUG

A DTM contract for his birthday: young talent Marius Zug signed the contract for his debut in DTM on 6 February, his 19th birthday. The driver from Pfaffenhofen will be participating in the season’s eight race weekends in the long-standing series with an Audi R8 LMS evo II run by Attempto Racing from Hanover. The season opener will be held at Portimão in Portugal from 29 April-1 May.
