LAURENS VANTHOOR AND DENNIS OLSEN TO RACE FOR PORSCHE TEAM SSR PERFORMANCE IN THE 2022 DTM

SSR Performance already having announced its participation in the 2022 DTM with a pair of Porsche 911 GT3 Rs back in December, the team now also confirms its driver line-up. Porsche works driver Laurens Vanthoor (BEL) with starting number #92 and Porsche contracted driver Dennis Olsen (NOR) are racing for the team from Munich. Both for the drivers and the team, the upcoming season will be the first full one in DTM, SSR Performance already having had a guest participation at Nürburgring in 2021. The new season gets underway at Portimão (POR) from 29 April until 1 May and includes 16 races. In the German-speaking countries, the races, all of them starting at 1.30pm CET/CEST, will be broadcast on ProSieben for the first time.

BWT MUCKE MOTORSPORT REINFORCE DTM TROPHY SQUAD

Berlin-based BWT Mücke Motorsport are gearing up for their debut in the DTM Trophy and beefing up their squad in the DTM feeder series by taking on another promising young talent. 19-year-old Frenchman Edouard Cauhaupé will line up for the 2022 season at the wheel of the team’s second Mercedes-AMG GT4 alongside Rodrigo Almeida and contest the seven race weekends as a rookie driver just like his team-mate.

ZVO RACING TO FIELD A SECOND MERCEDES-AMG FOR DANIEL JUNCADELLA IN THE ADAC GT MASTERS

Strong statement from ZVO Racing: The newcomer to the series will line up in the 2022 ADAC GT Masters as an official Mercedes-AMG Performance Team in the striking pink of BWT. The team from Mendig will run a second Mercedes-AMG GT3 in its debut season. The car will start under the team name Mercedes-AMG Team ZVO. Sharing the cockpit of the 550-hp GT3 car will be Mercedes-AMG Performance driver Daniel Juncadella (E/30) and Jan Marschalkowski (Inning/19). ZVO Racing is also represented by another impressive pair of drivers in former champion Jules Gounon (F/27) and Mercedes-AMG Junior Fabian Schiller (Bonn/24). The new ADAC GT Masters season kicks off from 22nd to 24th April at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.

WALKENHORST MOTORSPORT TO CONTINUE IN THE DTM AND DTM THROPHY

Walkenhorst Motorsport continues its two-pronged commitment to the DTM platform. Next to running a pair of BMWs for Marco Wittmann (GER) and Esteban Muth (BEL) in DTM, the BMW team from Melle near Osnabrück will again be competing with a BMW for Theo Oeverhaus (GER) in the talent pool DTM Trophy. The 17-year-old from Osnabrück already showed his considerable talent in his debut season. As the youngest driver, he ended up sixth overall from 28 drivers in the 2021 DTM Trophy following a victory and two further podium results.

BMW TEAM PROJECT 1 WITH YOUNG TALENTS IN THE DTM TROPHY

A new team, two new drivers, one approach: the Project 1 team becomes involved in DTM Trophy with two BMW M4 GT4s and drivers Louis Henkefend (GER) and Colin Caresani (NLD). For the racing stable from Lohne near Oldenburg in Lower Saxony, the participation in the talent pool on the DTM platform is a consequent continuation of its approach in supporting young talents in motorsport. Both drivers have completed a successful season in the BMW M2 Cup in 2021. Now, the next step follows in DTM Trophy. The race series consists of 14 sprint races, the season opener is at DEKRA Lausitzring Turn 1 from 20 till 22 May.

EMIL FREY RACING ENTERS THE ADAC GT MASTERS WITH THREE LAMBORGHINI

Another newcomer in the ADAC GT Masters: Emil Frey Racing lines up in the German GT Championship for the first time this season. The Swiss team aims to hit the ground running with no fewer than three Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO when it makes its debut in the series. The high-quality driver line-up is spearheaded by Lamborghini works drivers Albert Costa (31/E) and Franck Perera (37/F). Former Formula 1 driver Jack Aitken (26, UK) and some talented youngsters complete the squad of drivers at Emil Frey Racing, which receives works support from Lamborghini. Two of the three cars will bear the start numbers 19 and 63, representing the year in which Lamborghini was founded. The new ADAC GT Masters season gets underway from 22nd to 24th April at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.

T3 MOTORSPORT TURNS TO LAMBORGHINI WORKS DRIVER IN THE ADAC GT MASTERS

Intending to make a flying start to this ADAC GT Masters season, T3 Motorsport is turning to a Lamborghini works driver. Lamborghini Junior driver Maximilian Paul (22, Dresden) and works driver Marco Mapelli (34, I) will be sharing the Huracán GT3 EVO from T3. The racing team from Dresden is aiming to record top results in the German GT championship with this blend of youthful zest and experience. On Sunday, the online talk show “PS on Air – Der Ravenol ADAC GT Masters-Talk” featured an exclusive introduction to the driving duo by T3 Motorsport. The new season in the ADAC GT Masters starts from 22nd to 24th April in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
