Performance Tech Motorsports is thrilled to welcome back Rasmus Lindh and Dan Goldburg for the full 2022 IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.
The Swedish superstar will be joining the Delray Beach Native for the third year and second full season in the LMP3 class. After a breakout season in the No. 38 Ligier JSP320 Lindh looks forward to tidying up unfinished business with teammate Goldburg at some of the most renowned tracks in North America. Together, the pair aims to lock down the first win for the No. 38 since the creation of the LMP3 class.
Team Principal Brent O’Neill has a well-trained eye when it comes to aligning driver groupings for the best outcomes, this partnership is the perfect example.
“It’s great to have Rasmus and Dan together for the rest of the season,” O’Neill said. “When Rasmus first drove with us three years ago there was no doubt in my mind that he was fast and would complement Dan, who was already super quick and comfortable in the Ligier. He and Dan had immediate chemistry which we really saw amplified at the end of 2021. They’ll be quick together and with a little luck will be able to grab wins that just barely evaded them last season.”
In a realm full of more talent than there are seats Lindh is both excited and grateful to be back with the Deerfield Beach-based group.
“I want to thank the whole O’Neill family, Performance Tech and of course my friend and co-driver Dan Goldburg for continued confidence,” Lind said. “I look forward to the season starting, I will do everything I can to win the championship. We had a lot of success last year, and we are going to continue with that. Our goal is to win Sebring and continue to be on the top of the podium.”
Driver Goldburg has already had his 2022 debut in the No. 38 as he welcomed in the season at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, an exhibition race for the LMP3 class. Now, as he heads to his home track, Sebring International Raceway, he’s ready to ramp up to a championship contesting season.
“We’re back and we’re going for it,” Goldburg said. “I learned a lot last year about managing a WeatherTech race, when to be patient and when to go all out, and made significant improvements in my driving. Trying to keep up with Rasmus and learning from his data and coaching has made me a much better driver, and we’re very comfortable as a driver combo and team. We’re in a good spot and ready to kick off the main season at our home track, Sebring. With how many years and laps I have around Sebring, I told the guys I can ‘drive it with my eyes closed’ and I was able to experience it in the dark recently which will come in handy.”
The duo is gearing up for their first event of the year, The Twelve Hours of Sebring, March 16-19. They will be joined by a third driver, who will be announced in the coming days.
