Silverstone will play host to a 52-car field of GT3 machinery next weekend when the Blancpain GT Series makes its annual trip to the historic venue for a three-hour Endurance Cup contest.
“Audi Sport customer racing today is experiencing the largest model offensive in its history,” says Michael-Julius Renz, Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH. “In 2018 we’re aiming for our fifth overall victory in the world’s biggest endurance race, the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. Emil Frey Jaguar Racing is highly motivated following the great start to the season by winning the Silver Cup and achieving fifth overall in Monza and is now taking the momentum to the second race of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup at Silverstone. The second round is taking place next week at the “Home of British Motorsport” with the Swiss team celebrating their home race with the GT3 Jaguar.
Porsche has designed a new customer racer for GT3 series worldwide for 2019 based on the 911 GT3 RS production sports car: the 911 GT3 R. During the development of the up to 404 kW (550 hp)* racing nine-eleven, special attention was paid to particularly efficient aerodynamics, further optimised safety as well as lowering the cost of servicing and spare parts.
