ALL SET FOR THE 2019 ADAC GT MASTERS SEASON

Former champions like Sebastian Asch (32, GER), Luca Ludwig (30, GER, both HB Racing) and Maximilian Götz (33, GER, Mann-Filter Team HTP), World Endurance Champion Timo Bernhard (38, GER, KÜS Team75 Bernhard) and newcomer Fabian Vettel (20, GER, Mann-Filter Team HTP). In addition, there will be spectacular supercars bearing the logos of Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche as well as several new teams and a new Club of Champions sponsored by series partner herrenausstatter.de. On Media Day held during the official preseason tests at Oschersleben, the ADAC GT Masters presented an attractive line-up for its 2019 season, which opens on the weekend of 26th – 28th April at the same venue.

AUDI REACHES FOR FORMULA E LEAD IN ROME

Formula E arrives in Europe: Following events in Asia, the Middle East, and South and Central America, the electric racing series will race on the streets of Rome on Saturday (April 13). Daniel Abt and Lucas di Grassi are in the thick of the fight for the top spot. With their team, Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler, they are separated from the leaders of the standings by only one point.

CRAFT-BAMBOO RACING BEGIN THE 2019 BLANCPAIN GT WORLD CHALLENGE ASIA SEASON WITH AN OVERALL VICTORY AND 2 PODIUM FINISHES IN SEPANG

The opening rounds of the 2019 Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia season were held at the Sepang Circuit in Malaysia, and it also marked Craft-Bamboo Racing’s first outing in the series as an Official Performance Team of Mercedes-AMG. The team began the 2019 season in style, victorious in Race 1 after a stellar drive from the #88 J-Fly Racing Pairing of Jeffrey Lee and Alessio Picariello, and the #99 pairing of Darryl O’Young and Christina Nielsen finished on the podium again in Race 2. In the GT4 class, the #77 car with Frank Yu and Jean-Marc Merlin bounced back after a difficult first race to finished 2nd on Sunday.

CHEN AND VAN DER DRIFT TAKE DRAMATIC VICTORY IN LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO ASIA SEASON-OPENER

The Gama Racing pair of Evan Chen and championship newcomer Chris van der Drift stormed to victory in the opening round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia 2019 as the championship’s eighth season got off to a dramatic start. Just as the 50-minute, 21-lap night race under lights at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit was preparing to get underway, the skies opened and rain began to pour down. While many of the teams opted for wet weather tyres, Gama Racing took a gamble by starting van der Drift on slicks – a decision which later helped them to a 6.499 second victory by the chequered flag.

JUNIOR HARPER MAKES A FLYING START TO 2019 PORSCHE CARRERA CUP GB SEASON

The Porsche Carrera Cup GB, the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK, got off to a flying start at Brands Hatch with two exciting races. It was 18-year-old Porsche GB 2018 / 2019 Junior Dan Harper (JTR) who emerged from the opening weekend leading the Pro championship standings, Harper claimed Pole position, victory in Round One and a podium finish in Round Two.

BLANCPAIN GT WORLD CHALLENGE ASIA AM CUP WIN FOR B-QUIK RACING AT SEPANG

B-Quik Racing’s Henk Kiks and Daniel Bilski stormed to Am Cup victory in round two of Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia. The Audi R8 LMS GT3 squad advanced from the very rear of the 25-strong GT3 field to cross the line 16th, first in class. The performance, after the team had been shunted out of round one, capped off a fine day of recovery for a number of Audi customer squads, with impressive showings in round two after a chaotic round one at the Sepang International Circuit.

JUNIOR HARPER TAKES PORSCHE CARRERA GB BRANDS HATCH POLE

Wet weather played a part in delivering a thrilling qualifying session at Brands Hatch, claiming the first pole position of the season was 18-year-old Porsche GB 2018 / 2019 Junior Dan Harper (JTR). Harper will start Round One alongside Pro-Am category runner Jamie Orton (JTR) at the head of a mixed up grid resulting from the slippery conditions. Am category Rookie John Ferguson (IN2 Racing) starts on the second row of the grid in third position.

PLATO TOPS CLOSE PORSCHE CARRERA CUP GB FRIDAY PRACTICE SESSION AT BRANDS HATCH

The opening weekend of the 2019 Porsche Carrera Cup GB season got underway at Brands Hatch with Lewis Plato (Motorbase Performance) topping both morning and afternoon practice sessions. In Friday’s combined times Plato was followed by 18-year-old Porsche GB 2018 / 2019 Junior Dan Harper (JTR) who finished the day just 0.106s behind his former teammate in P2. Recording the third fastest time of the day was 2018 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Rookie champion George Gamble (Amigos Redline Racing) – Plato, Harper and Gamble were covered by just 0.130s.
