Qualifying for the first round of the GT 2019 Endurance Championship took place today in Monza.
Under a sky that threatened rain, but fortunately spared the historic Brianza circuit, Nova Race with its Ginetta G55 driven by Luca Magnoni and the Norwegian Aleksander Schjerpen won a well-deserved second place in qualifying reserved for GT4.
The official tests were very tight, only in the last few minutes BMW Italia team got a lap time that took the team from Varese out of the first place.
Luca Magnoni: “I am very satisfied with the result obtained which testifies the good work done during winter tests and in yesterday’s free practice. Tomorrow we will do battle because our rivals are very competitive, but we have everything we need to make a beautiful race. ”
Aleksander Schjerpen: “It’s my first experience with Nova Race and my first time at Monza and it couldn’t have started better. During the free practice this morning we solved small set-up problems and worked in the right direction. I was welcomed by the team like never before and I hope to repay this with a good race tomorrow. ”
Tomorrow the race will start at 14.10.
