PORSCHE GB JUNIOR HARPER TOPS CARRERA CUP GB SILVERSTONE PRACTICE

18-year-old Porsche GB 2018 / 2019 Junior Dan Harper (JTR) led both Friday Free Practice Sessions at Silverstone as the Porsche Carrera Cup GB kick-started its blue riband weekend in support of the 2019 / 2020 World Endurance Championship (WEC). Both morning and afternoon sessions featured a close battle between Porsche GB Junior Harper and 2014 Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion Josh Webster (Team Parker Racing) – in the afternoon session the pair were separated by just 0.057 seconds around the full 3.6-mile Grand Prix circuit. Championship title challenger Lewis Plato (Motorbase Performance) finished both sessions in P3.

CETILAR RACING MAKES FIA WEC DEBUT AT SILVERSTONE

Cetilar Racing is all set for its FIA WEC debut as the long waiting for the 2019-2020 season is almost over. After completing three consecutive editions of the 24H Le Mans and having raced in the European Le Mans Series in the last years, the all-Italian team led by Roberto Lacorte officially enters the Olympus of the Endurance Motorsport. A new thrilling challenge is now starting for Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi, sharing the driving duties in the #47 Dallara-Gibson LMP2 car technically supported by famous AF Corse.

OREGON TEAM SEEKING FOR REBOUND IN 4-HOURS OF SILVERSTONE EVENT

Oregon Team had an extraordinary season start, the best in the team’s European Le Mans Series history. But it eventually turned out below expectations in terms of results. The first three events of the European championship were double-faced: on one hand, the performance of the team-car-driver combination; on the other hand, the fact of not having scored a better result than the fourth place grabbed in last April’s Paul Ricard opener.

K-PAX RACING RECHARGED AND READY FOR WATKINS GLEN

K-PAX Racing continues its charge toward multiple Blancpain GT World Challenge America Championship crowns at a track where it saw electricity in its first year with Bentley Motorsport. With six rounds remaining in the series schedule, the perennial title-contender will set its sights on Watkins Glen International – with both its second-generation Bentley Continental GT3s making a convincing case for the team’s fifth championship since the team’s successful inaugural 2007 run.

WEC TITLE DEFENCE MISSION BEGINS FOR PORSCHE WITH FOUR-HOUR RACE AT SILVERSTONE

The new Porsche 911 RSR celebrates its race debut at the season-opening round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The first race of the 2019/2020 season will be held on the weekend of 30 August to 1 September at the Formula 1 racetrack at Silverstone (Great Britain). The Porsche GT Team, which tackles the FIA WEC as the reigning manufacturers’ world champion, fields two ca. 515 hp sports cars from Weissach in the race over four hours. In the GTE-Am category, the customer teams Project 1, Gulf Racing and Dempsey Proton Racing campaign a total of five of last year’s Porsche 911 RSR models.

MERCEDES-AMG TEAM CRAFT-BAMBOO RACING FINISH P4 IN THE SUZUKA 10 HOURS AFTER FLAWLESS TEAM EFFORT

Going into the Suzuka 10 Hours weekend, the team were optimistic of a strong result despite it being Mercedes-AMG Team Craft-Bamboo Racing crews’ first endurance race with the Mercedes-AMG GT3. Factory Mercedes-AMG drivers Maximilian Götz, Luca Stolz and Yelmer Buurman were drafted in to give the team a best possible chance at fighting at the front. Despite limited dry running all weekend, the team’s preparation and focus meant that after a hard-fought 10 hour race which saw no mistakes and a great team effort, Craft-Bamboo Racing finished in 4th position, just missing out on a podium spot by 3 seconds at the end.

SIXTH IMSA WIN AT ROUND NINE FOR THE PORSCHE GT TEAM

With a one-two result, Porsche continues its winning streak in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. At the third to last race of the season, Patrick Pilet (France) and Nick Tandy (Great Britain) crossed the finish line in the Porsche 911 RSR as the overall winners. Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) and Earl Bamber (New Zealand) finished second driving the number 912 sister car and, thanks to their victories Long Beach, Mid-Ohio, and Canada’s Bowmanville, continue to hold the lead. The winners of the rounds at Sebring and Watkins Glen, Pilet and Tandy, managed to reduce the gap with their third win to eleven points in the drivers’ classification. In the GTLM class, Porsche also holds a clear lead the manufacturers’ classification with 304 points.

BMW TEAM RLL FINISHES SEVENTH AND EIGHTH AT VIR

BMW Team RLL had a difficult race in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Michelin GT Challenge at Virginia International Raceway (USA), ultimately finishing seventh and eighth in the GTLM class. Having finished first and third there last season, the team could not equal the pace of the other GTLM competitors this time. The #96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 finished 11th in the GTD class after an early race incident.
