Bruno Carneiro Motorsports Round 1,2 and 3 2017 Japan F3 Championship

Both Bruno and the team learned a lot about the new car and there has been a huge step forward in lap times with a 1.2 seconds improvements in set up. After a good P8 in Qualifying, we ended with a P11 in race 1, a DNF in Race 2 and a P10 on Race 3.

It was a day of fast starts, first-time winners and one very big crash at Rockingham on Sunday (1 May), as Douglas Motorsport’s Thomas Randle and Carlin’s Ricky Collard made up multiple positions into the first corner to take race two and three victory respectively. In the opening race of the day, Double R Racing’s Enzo Bortoleto went end-over-end at Chapman Curve but got out of his car unharmed, a great testament to the strength of the Tatuus chassis.

Double R Racing’s Matheus Leist took a controlled win in race one of the weekend at Brands Hatch having led the field away from pole position, coming home ahead of Carlin’s Ricky Collard and Lanan Racing’s Toby Sowery, who now assumes the championship lead with his third-place finish. There was plenty of drama behind the podium finishers however as a late race rain shower made the Grand Prix circuit slick, catching out a number of drivers and jumbling up the order.
