TAVELLA AND HIS RIDE WITH DYLAN INITIATIVE COMPETE IN HOME EVENT THIS WEEKEND

Heading to the penultimate round of the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda, rookie driver Dylan Tavella will compete in his home race. Taking on the 2.25 mile New Jersey Motorsports Park this coming weekend, the Miller Vinatieri Motorsports driver will look to take his ‘Ride With Dylan’ branded machine to the front of the field over the September 14-16 weekend.

SABRÉ COOK TO MAKE HER F4 UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP POWERED BY HONDA SERIES DEBUT

Competing in all forms of motorsports including Karting, Formula Enterprises, Spec Racer Ford and USF2000, Colorado native Sabré Cook is set to make her F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda series debut. Confirmed for the remaining two events on the 2018 calendar, Cook will see action at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) in Millville, New Jersey as well as the famed Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas.

The main title contenders are Shone Evans and Aaron Turkey while Jacob Dykstra remains mathematically in contention. Evans holds an eight-point advantage in the championship standings entering the deciding race, which provides the Scotland, Ont. native a slim cushion for the final 20-lap Feature. Dykstra is 24 points back of Evans and remains mathematically alive, but will need some help in order to capture the title.

Track Champions to be Crowned on Day of Champions Saturday at Petty Raceway

Highlighting the card will be two 40-lap A.E. McKay Builders Late Model Sportsman feature events. The spotlight will be on the top three in points with each of the trio looking for their first Late Model Sportsman championship at Petty International Raceway since the track re-opened in 2011. Brady Creamer (Miramichi) enters the final night of point racing with a five point lead over 54th Jones Auto Body River Glade International champion Jordan Veinotte (Porter’s Lake, NS) and six points on veteran Laurie Cormier (Riverview). Reigning track champion Kenny MacKenzie Jr (Salisbury) enters with a mathematical chance at a second title but with a 25-point deficit will need some help to get back to the top. With lots of laps for the trio to work and several others looking to grab two checkered flags on the evening, this battle could go either way when the dust settles after heat racing and two feature events.

Sprint Car Championships and Brock Leonard Memorial at Ohsweken on Friday Night

Also on the card is the prestigious 50-lap Brock Leonard Memorial for the Middleport Mechanical Thunder Stocks as well as a regular 15-lap event for the HRW Automotive Mini Stocks. The Brock Leonard Memorial is one of the biggest races of the year for the Thunder Stocks and is run annually in honour of the late Brock Leonard, a longtime Speedway official and father of Ohsweken race director, Doug Leonard, who passed away in 2012. The race is also the second of four combined races for the Insta-Panels Duel on the Dirt Series.

Mini Stock Tour Championship Showdown Set to Shine Saturday at Riverside

After Chris Hatcher (Beaver Bank, NS) drove the No. 31 entry for the last two weekends in New Brunswick, Matthew Warren (White’s Lake, NS) returns to the seat of the Multi-Tech Automotive/A1 Tree Care Honda Civic with the point lead. Warren has a healthy 21 point lead on Dave Matthews (Kennetcook, NS) and a 23 point advantage on reigning champion Tim Webster (Beaver Bank, NS). While Andrew Warren (White’s Lake, NS), Cody Byrne (Orwell Cove, PE) and Neil Miousse (Kentville, NS) are not mathematically eliminated from the championship picture heading into the Diamond Trucking 50, they are long shots to take home the title.

It was another winning weekend for PSL Karting, the North American importer for the Birel ART product line. USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour, Deuk Spine Institute driver Arias Deukmedjian completed his season triumph two weeks ago by claiming the X30 Junior National Championship. Turner Brothers Lead SOS Into Doubleheader Weekend

Cory Turner leads the SOS championship points standings heading into this weekend's events, while Cory's brother Ryan Turner is just 22 points behind. 2013 champ Chris Jones is third in the standings, followed by 2016 & 2017 champ Dylan Westbrook, Jamie Turner, Shawn Sliter, Steve Lyons, 2001 & 2006 champ Warren Mahoney, Frank Baranowski, and Paul Pekkonen. Both Cory and Ryan Turner have already scored SOS wins this season, along with Dylan Westbrook.

Fan Appreciation Night Honors Speedway 660 Fans on Saturday Evening

After a two week break, the RE/MAX East Coast Elite Realty Pro Stock division will resume their tight championship battle. Dave O’Blenis (Boundary Creek), the five time Pro Stock division champion, has a one point lead over sophomore driver Ryan Messer (Harvey). Messer has championships in every stock car discipline he has raced leading to his Pro Stock debut last year. Should they stumble, Greg Fahey (St Stephen) and Brent Roy (Hanwell) sit only 17 and 29 points behind the championship battle with just two point races remaining. Ashton Tucker (Lyttleton), 30 points out of O’Blenis, completes the top five in the standings. All five at the top of the championship chase have won at least one feature event this season and will make for an excellent showcase to the finish of the season.

CTMP Primed For Chevrolet Silverado 250, NASCAR Trucks Playoff Opener

The weekend will feature many of today’s rising NASCAR stars as the Camping World Truck Series makes its sixth consecutive annual appearance at Canada’s legendary track. Johnny Sauter, Brett Moffitt, Noah Gragson, Justin Haley and Ben Rhodes have all qualified to begin their quest for the 2018 Driver’s Championship starting with the Chevrolet Silverado 250. A total of eight drivers will be eligible – Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Stewart Friesen sits seventh in the battle for the playoffs with one race left before coming north to CTMP.
