ESM RETURNS TO ROAD AMERICA TO DEFEND DPi WIN
After a series of challenging races in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Tequila Patrón ESM is pressing on to the next round in the championship to Road America, where the team earned Nissan its first DPi win in 2017. Drivers Johannes van Overbeek and Pipo Derani brought the No. 22 Nissan Onroak DPi to victory with drivers Scott Sharp and Ryan Dalziel finishing third in the No. 2 Nissan Onroak DPi, scoring the team a double podium finish.

BMW TEAM RLL LOOKING FORWARD TO ROAD AMERICA
The annual trip to Road America for the IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Showcase is always a highlight for BMW Team RLL. The classic Wisconsin circuit was the site of BMW Team RLL’s very first pole position and victory in 2009 behind the efforts of Bill Auberlen and Joey Hand in their BMW M3 GT. Over the past eight seasons the team has scored an additional two poles and seven podium finishes at the historic motor circuit, including two more wins in 2010 and 2012.

Sunday afternoon at the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Road America, GTSA driver Mike Hedlund scored a third place finish, earning the 95th podium for Flying Lizard Motorsports. The No. 45 Audi R8 LMS GT4 drove to his fourth podium finish of the year, leading the team’s three car charge in the double header weekend.

Team Panoz Racing returned to Road America aiming to re-claim the back-to-back wins enjoyed last year. Driver Ian James secured the mission in today’s sixth round of the GTS Championship at the challenging 4.048-mile, 14-turn road circuit.

Ian James returned to Road America this week aiming to repeat the back-to-back victories with the No. 50 Panoz Avezzano that the team achieved in 2017. Today, he put the beginning of that plan in motion and took Team Panoz Racing to the top step of the podium for the second time this season.

Tequila Patrón ESM celebrated a breakthrough performance Sunday afternoon at Road America, earning the first Nissan DPi win of the 2017 season, while also netting a third place finish. The No. 22 Nissan Onroak DPi clinched the win, the teams seventh under the IMSA sanctioning body.

WEATHERTECH RACING PORSCHE FINISHES NINTH AT ROAD AMERICA
WeatherTech Racing drivers Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.) and Gunnar Jeannette (Salt Lake City, Utah) finished ninth in the GTD class in Sundays IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America. MacNeil started 11th on the GTD grid in the No. 50 WeatherTech Porsche.
