WeatherTech Racing finished third in today’s running of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring at Sebring International Speedway.
WeatherTech Racing will start the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring from third in GTD Pro for tomorrow’s 10:10 a.m. ET start at Sebring International Speedway.
The champion returns: The Zakspeed BKK Mobil Oil Racing team has acquired the services of former champion Jules Gounon (26/F) to spearhead its campaign in the ADAC GT Masters. In the latest edition of PS on Air – The Ravenol ADAC GT Masters Talk, the team from the Eifel region of Germany also confirmed the drivers of its second Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo for the German GT Championship: Hendrik Still (33/Kempenich) and Constantin Schöll (22/A). Zakspeed will also field two cars in ADAC GT4 Germany, each with strong duos at the wheel. Oschersleben hosts the opening round of the new season from 14th to 16th May.
The six drivers will contest the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup for Bentley’s fifth season with two brand new second generation Bentley Team M-Sport Continental GT3s, and will also complete the entire Intercontinental GT Challenge for the first time.
BMW factory driver Philipp Eng in a BMW M6 GT3 entered by BMW Team Schnitzer is currently placed second in the ADAC GT Masters. With two race weekends in the Super Sports Car League still to go, the Austrian plans to pile on the pressure in the battle for the title.
After four of the seven race weekends of the 2017 ADAC GT Masters season, Corvette driver Jules Gounon (22, FRA, Callaway Competition) has managed to pull out something of a gap at the top of the table.
Four of the seven ADAC GT Masters race weekends have now been run, and racing in the Super Sports Car League continues next week (4th – 6th August) at the Nürburgring. In the meantime, here is our summary of stats from the first eight races.
