Whelen Engineering drivers Pipo Derani (Brazil), Olivier Pla (France) and the No. 31 Cadillac will return to Canadian Tire Motorsports Park July 1-3 for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Chevrolet Grand Prix. This weekend’s race marks the first time the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship has competed in Canada since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
A day that started with passing cars and leading laps ended in heartbreak with just minutes left on the clock for the Paul Miller Racing team at Watkins Glen.
The No. 25 BMW M Team RLL BMW M4 GT3, driven by Connor De Phillippi, John Edwards, and Augusto Farfus, seemingly won today’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, the fifth round of the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. After an audit of drive time, it was found that the third driver, John Edwards, did not meet the (adjusted) one-hour-and-17-minute minimum and the car was moved to the rear of the field.
Ally Cadillac drivers Jimmie Johnson (El Cajon, Calif.), Kamui Kobayashi (Japan) and Mike Rockenfeller (Germany) finished sixth in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International.
Connor De Phillippi will start the No. 25 BMW M Team RLL BMW M4 GT3 from the GTD PRO pole position in tomorrow’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen. He posted a 1:44.755- minute lap around the 3.4-mile, 11-turn Watkins Glen International circuit to score the first GTD PRO class pole for the new BMW M4 GT3 and the second pole of his BMW M Team RLL career (Sebring, 2018). De Phillippi will co-drive with John Edwards and Augusto Farfus today.
WeatherTech Racing drivers Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill), Maro Engel (Germany), and Mikael Grenier (Canada) will start the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen from seventh on the GTD Pro grid at Watkins Glen International for tomorrow’s six-hour race.

After taking a brief hiatus from the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule, Lamborghini customer racing team NTE/SSR is back and ready to race next week at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen. After finishing fourth in the six-hour endurance sports car race last year, the team has unfinished business at the event, hungry as ever to score their first podium finish as a group.
