PORSCHE HEADS INTO SECOND HALF OF THE IMSA SEASON AS POINTS LEADER

A fortnight after winning the 24-hour classic at Le Mans, Porsche takes on the next challenge in the USA: The six-hour race at Watkins Glen on 1 July heralds the start of the second half of the IMSA SportsCar Championship season. At the traditional race in the U.S. state of New York, the Porsche GT Team fields two Porsche 911 RSR in the strongly represented GTLM class. After scoring victories at Sebring and Mid-Ohio, Porsche leads the manufacturers’ classification of America’s premier sports car series. In addition to the long-distance races at Daytona, Sebring and Petit Le Mans, Watkins Glen, too, counts towards the North American Endurance Cup. Porsche currently ranks second in the toughest and most important performance and reliability category in GT racing worldwide.

HANSON DETERMINED TO SCORE SECOND CONSECUTIVE U.S. TOP-FIVE

Phil Hanson heads for the penultimate round of the Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup bidding to overcome the odds and score a podium finish next Sunday (1 Jul). The British teenager who was out of luck in his second Le Mans 24 Hours (16-17 Jun), contests the Six-Hour race at Watkins Glen in New York State with Paul Di Resta (GB) and Bruno Senna (BR) in a United Autosports Ligier JS P217.

THE LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO EUROPE OFFERS ANOTHER SHOW AT MISANO

The third round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, held at Misano, once again showed a great balance, with eight winning crews in the four classes. After the first two races held on Saturday night, the one-make series for the cars of the House of Sant’Agata Bolognese offered another exciting show, starting from the battle for victory among the PRO drivers that saw the duo of Imperiale Racing formed by Karol Basz and Vito Postiglione score their third win, after an exciting final sprint of the car of Antonelli Motorsport shared by Giacomo Altoè and Daniel Zampieri, who finished second and are leading the standings by only three points.

BELGIAN AUDI CLUB TEAM WRT COMPLETES PERFECT WEEKEND WITH DOMINANT BLANCPAIN GT SERIES ONE-TWO FINISH AT MISANO

Belgian Audi Club Team WRT completed a dominant Blancpain GT Series weekend at Misano with a one-two finish in this afternoon’s 60-minute Sprint Cup race. The podium was completed by the #25 Audi R8 LMS of Sainteloc Racing, with last year’s Total 24 Hours of Spa winners returning to form ahead of this year’s 70th edition of the endurance classic.

EQUIPE VERSCHUUR CLAIMS COMMANDING GT4 EUROPEAN SERIES VICTORY AT MISANO

Equipe Verschuur drivers Finlay Hutchison and Ricardo van der Ende secured their first GT4 European Series win of the season at the Misano World Circuit today. Starting from fourth on the grid, Hutchison moved into the lead early in the race, before handing the McLaren 570S GT4 to Van der Ende. The Dutchman then drove it to the finish, to claim Equipe Verschuur’s and McLaren’s first win in the series. RN Vision STS won Pro-Am, TFT Racing claimed victory in the Am class.

TUJULA AND ORTIZ ARE THE KINGS OF THE LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO EUROPE MISANO NIGHT RACE

The race weekend at Misano, which hosts the third of the six double rounds of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, started with a Saturday night full of emotions. On the Romagna circuit, the two night races reserved quite a few surprises, starting from the first win of the duo of VS Racing formed by Felipe Ortiz and Tuomas Tujula, who also scored a class victory in the PRO category. In the AM, Manuel Lauck and Florian Scholze took their first win with the colors of Dörr Motorsport. In the PRO-AM, instead, Juan Perez and Loris Spinelli (Antonelli Motorsport) scored their fourth victory in a row and managed to increase their advantage in the class standings. Lastly, Joseph Collado took the win in the Lamborghini Cup.

THE KESSEL RACING FERRARI 488 GT3 ON TRACK AT MISANO IN THE BLANCPAIN GT SERIES SPRINT CUP

Following back-to-back Endurance Cup events, attention shifts back to short-format Sprint racing when a closely-matched field of 22 cars tackles the 4.2km Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. With little over a month remaining before the 24 Hours of Spa, the meeting takes on added significance by providing teams and drivers with a final chance to flex their competitive muscles before the most important event of the year.

CRAFT-BAMBOO RACING SECURES TWO LE MANS WINNERS FOR SUZUKA 10 HOUR LINE-UP

Craft-Bamboo Racing has secured two recent 24 Hours of Le Mans winners for their Suzuka 10 Hour driver line-up. This announcement comes only five days after Laurens Vanthoor and Kevin Estre took victory in the GTE Pro class at the world famous 24 Hours of Le Mans in the world’s most iconic Porsche, the ‘Pink Pig’. Completing the trio will be young Porsche driver, Mathieu Jaminet, who is best known for his domination of the Porsche Carrera Cup France. Both the team and drivers are solely focused on claiming victory in the ten-hour endurance event which will run from the 24th-26thof August as part of the SRO’s Intercontinental GT Challenge.
