The race weekend at Misano, which hosts the third of the six double rounds of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, started with a Saturday night full of emotions. On the Romagna circuit, the two night races reserved quite a few surprises, starting from the first win of the duo of VS Racing formed by Felipe Ortiz and Tuomas Tujula, who also scored a class victory in the PRO category. In the AM, Manuel Lauck and Florian Scholze took their first win with the colors of Dörr Motorsport. In the PRO-AM, instead, Juan Perez and Loris Spinelli (Antonelli Motorsport) scored their fourth victory in a row and managed to increase their advantage in the class standings. Lastly, Joseph Collado took the win in the Lamborghini Cup.

In the PRO, the class leader Daniel Zampieri, who started from the first row alongside the poleman Vito Postiglione (Imperiale Racing), lost the opportunity to fight for the victory. The latter driver was also forced to retire during the first lap. The fastest driver at the start was Rik Breukers, but the Dutchman of GDL Racing had to give way to Spinelli, who scored a first-place finish in the PRO-AM. The Italian of the Antonelli Motorsport team remained in the lead until the pit-stops, but afterwards his teammate Perez slipped second overall, while maintaining the class leadership. After taking over the wheel from Ortiz, Tujula took the lead and crossed the finish line in first position.

Joffrey De Narda and Kikko Galbiati (Antonelli Motorsport) finished third overall and second in the PRO category, ahead of Niels Lagrange and Frederik Schandorff. Behind them came their teammates of Leipert Motorsport, Pavel Lefterov and Jean-Louis Jasper, second in the PRO-AM, in which the lowest step of the podium was taken by the duo of Iron Lynx formed by Lorenzo Bontempelli and Emanuele Zonzini.

In the AM category, the race was dominated by Manuel Lauck and Florian Scholze and was characterized by a thrilling finish. After starting from the pole, the former immediately took the lead and began to accumulate a good margin of advantage over all, but after the pit-stops Scholze was progressively caught by Piero Necchi. The Italian of VS Racing finished second with a four-tenth gap from the German. The duo of Dörr Motorsport celebrated their first success of the season and also took the top position in the standings. After an excellent start that had allowed him to move temporarily to second place, Cedric Leimer finished third with a car of Autovitesse.

In the Lamborghini Cup, Joseph Collado, who was the fastest in his class in both qualifying sessions, took his second victory after that scored in Race 1 at Silverstone. The Frenchman of AGS Events finished seventh overall. The second and third place went respectively to the two Dutchmen Gerard Van der Horst and William Van Deyzen (Van der Horst Motorsport).

This afternoon, Race 2 for the AM and Lamborghini Cup will kick off at 3:30 p.m., whereas the one for the PRO and PRO-AM classes will start at 5:30 p.m.. Both races can be followed in live streaming on the internet website squadracorse.lamborghini.com/live-streaming and on the Lamborghini Squadra Corse Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/LamborghiniSquadraCorse.
