United Autosports are happy to confirm that Will Owen will return to their European Le Mans Series LMP2 team for the 2020 season.

Will returns to the British team for his fourth consecutive year in the ELMS, after joining them in 2017 for their LMP2 debut. Since then, Will has achieved two wins and six podiums with the team, including a win on his and the team’s debut in 2017 at Silverstone. Will has also raced at the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours for the last three years as part of the United Autosports line up, finishing third in 2018 in a Ligier JS P217. He also finished fourth at the 2018 Rolex 24 At Daytona on United’s debut at the iconic American endurance race.

Will is once again racing alongside Alex Brundle in the Oreca 07. Their team mate for 2020 will be announced in the coming weeks. Both Will and Alex will be part of the United Autosports Le Mans 2020 driver line ups, pending an entry confirmation from the ACO.

Will Owen, driver, United Autosports:
“I am happy to announce that I will rejoin United Autosports for a fourth consecutive year in LMP2. This is the longest I have ever been with a racing team and it’s for a good reason. I feel at home with United and I’m excited to continue this relationship that has produced great results and a lot of fun over the past three years. Going into 2020 being familiar with the Oreca and how the United engineers have developed it so far is a promising feeling to have. As usual, we will keep our expectations open because ELMS is super competitive in the LMP2 class, but with the #32 car I believe we have the potential for some great results. Bring it on!”

Zak Brown, Team Owner and Chairman, United Autosports:
“It’s great to welcome Will back to the team for a fourth year. He has proved he is a quick and consistent racer and a fantastic team player, which is exactly what we need in the team. The continuity with him and Alex should bode well for our 2020 championship expectations.”

Richard Dean, Team Owner and Managing Director, United Autosports:
“I’m delighted Will is going to be joining us again for the European Le Mans Series. He is a great personalty to have around and he is definitely part of the United family now. It has been fantastic to see Will grow over the four years he has been with us, his race performances have been exceptionally strong and he is now proven to be one of the top LMP2 drivers in the series. We have a strong line up in that car so I’m hopeful both our LMP2 cars will be fighting for the championship.”
