Will Owen finished 4th with United Autosports in the LMP2 class at the 4 Hours of Portimao, the final round of the 2019 Europeans Le Mans Series season.
Alex Brundle opened the weekend on a strong note by qualifying the No. 32 United Autosports ORECA 07 in 4th place for the start of the 4 Hours of Portimao. Ryan Cullen started the race and moved from 4th to 3rd before a multiple car accident caused a red flag in the opening laps. An hour later, the race was back on and the No. 32 machine was the first to pit where Cullen handed the car over to Owen from 2nd place. Owen overtook the No. 26 as pit strategy fell into place with 1h 45mins left to go. A full-course yellow came out, and Owen was directed to the pits by United Autosports. Another full course yellow blanked the field with just over an hour to go, and Owen pitted at the same time as the sister No. 22 car and handed the car over to Brundle for the final hour. A solid opening stint by Brundle moved him up from 5th to 4th while in hot pursuit of the 3rd place car. Brundle battled with the No. 39 car and with 26 minutes left, made the move around take 3rd place. With 17 minutes to go, Brundle was sent to the pitted for Alex fuel only. By the time the checkered flag waved, Brundle was in 4th place.

“I don’t understand how we lost so much time to the Graff car, but ultimately, it doesn’t matter. We had a good pace, and we were right at the top end of the pack, which is where we should be. I’ve got to thank the team for this race and the whole year. It’s been fantastic, and we’ve had some success towards the end of the year.”
