Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.), Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium), and Earl Bamber (New Zealand) are ready for 24 hours of racing starting on Saturday at the Circuit de la Sarthe.

The WeatherTech Racing Porsche 911 RSR continues to run at the front of the ultra-competitive GTLM PRO category, with Vanthoor posting the fastest time in the last practice leading up the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a lap of 3:48.246. The team will take the start from the seventh position on the GTLM PRO grid for Saturday’s 16:00 CET start.

“We have had a really good week of testing leading up to Saturday,” MacNeil said. “Laurens, Earl, and I are pleased with the car and the Proton Competition guys and girls have been making small changes to the car all week in preparation for the race. We haven’t put a wheel wrong on the track so we will need to keep that focus for the race. It will take a total team effort on the track, in the pits, and with strategy to be in the hunt come Sunday afternoon.”

“It looks like we are quite strong at night,” Vanthoor said. “We’ve improved the car compared to yesterday. We have the best car that we have had all week, which is good as next is the race. I’m quite happy.”

“We’ve been tinkering away on the WeatherTech Porsche since Sunday,” Bamber said. “I think we have, each time tuned it, learned and got better. Now it is down to us as drivers and the team executing the race and hopefully being on the podium.”
