After clinching the 2018 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge title, TeamTGM is eager to return to IMSA competition and build on its success in 2019. Targeting a second IMSA championship, TeamTGM will return to the Michelin Pilot Challenge with the same stable of talented drivers and team members to prepare and compete with the Mercedes-AMG GT4 platform.

Ted Giovanis and Guy Cosmo will once again pair up in the No. 4 Jayne Koskinas Ted Giovanis (JKTG) Foundation / Camp Boggy Creek Mercedes-AMG GT4 while reigning IMSA champions Hugh Plumb and Owen Trinkler will return to co-drive the No. 46 JKTG Foundation / Camp Boggy Creek Mercedes-AMG GT4.

2018 marked a standout season for TeamTGM on many levels. The team took delivery of two brand-new Mercedes-AMG GT4s ahead of the 2018 season and was able to deliver key accomplishments for the all-new platform starting with a breakthrough team victory at Lime Rock Park. The team backed that win up with two more victories at VIR and Laguna Seca on the way to securing the GS championship title at Road Atlanta.

“TGM is looking forward to getting the 2019 season underway,” said Team Owner and driver, Giovanis. “There is a real synergy amongst each driver pairing as well as all four of us. Hugh (Plumb) and Owen (Trinkler) make a great pairing. When we brought Owen on for 2018, there were many talks on how to do the driver pairings, and as last year proved, we made the fortuitous decision to pair them which turned into a championship winning duo. As for Guy (Cosmo) and I, I have known Guy for almost a decade now, he is a true talent and I am looking forward to another season driving alongside him.”

Plumb, who has been a part of TeamTGM since 2017, is eager to start his third season with the team.

“I’m really happy to be back in the JKTG TGM Mercedes-AMG GT4 for 2019,” said Plumb. “Now the hard part, to back up our 2018 championship. As we proved last season, these are all the right people and partners to surround yourself with: TGM, Mercedes and of course my co-driver Owen Trinkler. I’m so thankful for Ted Giovanis for believing in me and the rest of TGM to do great things in 2019.”

Trinkler credits his championship win with TeamTGM as one of the greatest moments in his career but has now hit the reset button as he looks on to 2019.

“To be back with Ted and TGM is exciting,” said Trinkler. “It’s great that we are all back for 2019 so we can continue the camaraderie that we built over the last season. The championship last year was tremendous. I’m so happy for everyone, especially for Ted (Giovanis) and Kristina (Giovanis). I have put that behind me and have been focusing on this year. I don’t look at it that we have to match what we did last year and instead focus on what we need to do each weekend and everything else takes care of itself.”

Cosmo, who first joined the team during the 2016 season, is aiming to continue to make progress in the No. 46 Mercedes as he once again teams with Giovanis.

“I’m thrilled to be joining TeamTGM for my fourth year (third full season),” said Cosmo. “I’m thankful to Ted (Giovanis) for his continued support and belief in me along with his stellar commitment to this race team and everyone that comprises it. This year my main goal is to get Ted on the podium as a driver again, just as we did in my very first race with TGM at Road America. Ted has worked so hard on his driving and all that entails. The Michelin Pilot Challenge is a really competitive championship, and we are determined to get back on the box again this year!”

The Roar Before the 24 on January 4-6 will be the first event of the 2019 season followed by the four hour Endurance Challenge at Daytona on January 25th.
