Multiple race and championship winning Porsche outfit Team Parker Racing is delighted to confirm that it will be entering five cars into the brand-new Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe championship, taking place in Spain and Portugal this winter.

The newly launched series, organised by the team behind the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux – which Team Parker Racing won last season with Harry King – fills the void for European action in the off-season, taking advantage of milder weather conditions around the Mediterranean.

Competing with the team in 911 GT3 Cup (992) machinery will be current Porsche GB Junior Driver Adam Smalley, 2021 Carrera Cup GB champion Ryan Ratcliffe, Will Aspin, and Jake Giddings, while Zac Meakin will climb aboard the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport RS.

Offering a varied choice of cars for competitors, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe will feature two separate Divisions: Sport and Club, with sub-classes in each. Sport and Club will head out on track for sessions separately, ensuring an even balance in performance.

Sport will be for Pro and Pro-Am racers competing in Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) cars, with Silver-rated drivers in Pro and quick amateurs in Pro-Am, as Platinum and Gold rated drivers are not eligible for the series.

In Club there will be an Am class for 992 GT3 Cup drivers, followed by four classes for competitors in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport. RS will be for those in the RS variant, MR for MR / SRO spec cars, and Pro-Am and Am classes for those running in Trophy specification.

Stuart Parker, Team Principal

“We’re excited to head to Southern Europe to race this winter. We’ve competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux as Parker Revs Motorsport for the past few seasons so we know how capable the organisers are, so when they announced the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe, we knew we would want to be on the grid.

“The series is a great opportunity to head to warmer, drier places to prepare for the 2023 season and means the drivers will be able to hit the ground running come April. With a mixture of new and familiar faces it will be an enjoyable experience, but as ever, we’ll be taking it seriously and looking to finish on top of every session we take part in.”
