TEAM ANTONELLI MOTORSPORT DOUBLES ENTERING TWO MERCEDES-AMG GT3 CARS IN THE GT OPEN AT PAUL RICARD
Team Antonelli Motorsport doubles in the GT Open, as the international series heads this weekend to the Paul Ricard circuit for the second round.
After the season opener in Budapest, where Alexander Moiseev and 17-year-old Alexey Nesov ended Race 1 with the 3rd position in the Am category sharing a Kaspersky backed-outfit Mercedes-AMG GT3, the Russian duo aim again to a podium finish.
In France the Italy-based squad will field a second car for newcomer Lorenzo Ferrari and the driver/team manager Marco Antonelli, completing a Pro-Am pair.
For 17-year-old Ferrari – who is facing his first GT season – this is a test-race ahead of the Italian GT commitment, after making his debut in the national championship at Mugello claiming a Pro-Am victory in the Endurance Series, and taking an overall and Pro win in the Sprint Series opener at Misano only two weeks later.
Free practice kick-off the weekend on Friday. The first qualifying session of 30 minutes will start on Saturday at 10.15 to define the 70-minute Race 1 starting grid, which light is scheduled at 16.40.
