SSR Performance is going into the final DTM races of the season this weekend with a changed driver line-up. As usual, Dennis Olsen will take his place in the #94 car. Porsche contract driver Christian Engelhart takes over the green #92 Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Christian Engelhart has already brought the ADAC GT Masters championship title to Munich with SSR Performance in 2020. As a Porsche veteran who has already celebrated international successes in various series, he is joining the squad at Hockenheimring.

Porsche supports SSR Performance’s decision not to use Laurens Vanthoor as a driver for the DTM finale. While the factory driver has no chance of winning the title in the DTM, preparations for the new Porsche 963 are in full swing. Several test drives are still on the agenda until the end of the year. Laurens is therefore now concentrating on his assignment in the LMDh program 2023 with Porsche Penske Motorsport.

Stefan Schlund, team owner: “WELCOME BACK CHRISTIAN. We look forward to working with Christian Engelhart again. After winning the championship together in our debut 2020 season, it’s nice to see him back in #92. The focus here is on finishing the championship on the podium – in both the team and driver standings with the #94.”

Mario Schuhbauer, team principal SSR Performance: “We wish Laurens all the best for his future and thank him for the good cooperation in this year’s DTM season. At the same time, we are pleased to welcome Christian Engelhart back to the team. The ADAC GT Masters title has already been celebrated together. Now we want to end the season with the best possible results and are focusing on podium finishes in the team and driver classifications. I’m looking forward to the end of our debut season, we’ll give it our all again!”

Christian Engelhart, driver #92: “It’s a great feeling to tackle my debut race in the DTM together with SSR Performance. I already know most of the team members from our joint championship year and am really looking forward to working together again. Thanks to Stefan Schlund and his team for this chance and trust! It is certainly a challenge with a short preparation time, but I am convinced that we will master it successfully. I feel at home in the Porsche 911 GT3 R – only the Michelin tires are new territory for me. In any case, I can hardly wait for the traffic lights to turn green in Hockenheim!”

Dennis Olsen, driver #94: “I’m really looking forward to Hockenheim. I want to end the season on a positive note. We have the package we need for another podium finish. Now all we need is a little bit of luck.”
