Since 1987 Robinson Racing has been representing General Motors, and 2018 will be no different. A mid-season opportunity to represent Chevrolet with two Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R’s was a dream come true for the entire Robinson Racing team.

“Robinson Racing is returning to our roots with General Motors and Pratt & Miller,” says team owner George Robinson. “We have raced a GM product as far back as 1987, and as recently as 2017 where we won our 2nd TA2 championship in a Camaro. Robinson Racing is delighted to be back in the family with a bowtie proudly displayed on our new GT4.R Camaro’s in the Pirelli World Challenge GTS class.”

Second-generation racer, Gar Robinson will campaign his #74-74 Ranch Resort-Chevrolet Camaro just as his father did in the 1990’s, with the same crew and same support from GM and Pratt & Miller. The combination of the two teams has proved to be extremely successful in the past and the future has the same hope.

“My dad’s Camaro was chassis number 007 and I have the honor of running 007 in my new GT4.R,” says driver Gar Robinson, “it’s like this was meant to be. As my crew looks over our new cars, a sense of nostalgia has everyone in smiles and ready to go racing, I can’t wait to get in see what we (Robinson Racing & GM) can do!”

Crew Chief Jimmy Frasier says, “It’s great to be back with the best manufacture in motorsports” Jimmy has over 30 years working with GM and has ran everything from their Daytona Prototypes to current sportscars. “You can’t win without the proper support and GM has the support we need, between the two of us I’m confident we can find the right formula for success.”

Shane Lewis will continue to drive the #72-74 Ranch Resort-Chevrolet Camaro and co-drive in Sprint-X with Gar Robinson. The two will show off their new cars at Road America June 22-24th in rounds 5 & 6 of the GTS Sprint season.
