Team Parker Racing is delighted to announce that current Porsche GB Junior Driver Adam Smalley will join its line-up for the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe.

Adam finished runner up to Kiern Jewiss in last season’s Carrera Cup GB standings but was in the fight for the title against the Team Parker Racing driver right to the last weekend of the campaign.

The Lancastrian has had an impressive start to his motorsport career beginning in karting, taking the MBKC Club Championships, the MBKC Autumn Championship, the MBKC Winter Championship, and the Welsh Championship in Comer Cadet in 2012.

Adding the Minimax Rookie of the Year honours the following year, he then had notable performances and victories in both the UK and Europe in JuniorMax, before winning the Ginetta Junior Scholarship at the end of 2016.

Moving into car racing he won the Ginetta Junior Winter Series in 2017 and followed that with the Ginetta Junior Championship title in 2018. Adam then finished runner up in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge in 2019 and claimed the title in the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup in 2021, before being named Porsche GB Junior Driver for the 2022 and ‘23 seasons.

Last season, his debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, he scored one win and 10 further podiums en route to second in the standings, finishing outside of the top five on just two occasions in 16 race. He will be aiming firmly for the championship title this time out, making use of Team Parker Racing’s entry into the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe to hit the ground running on home soil in April.

Adam Smalley

“I had a great season in 2022 and finishing vice-champion in my first year in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB was more than I could have asked for as I think I scored the second most podiums. I’m really looking forward to the new challenges ahead with Team Parker Racing.

“The Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe should be interesting. I’ve not raced in Europe since I was in karts, so it will be beneficial in terms of track time and getting the race craft in. Testing in the UK is great, but in that January, February time, when it’s cold and getting dark at four o’clock, it makes a lot of sense to enter this new championship to get some all-important mileage under my belt, especially with a new team.

“Changing teams means it’s going to be very different with lots of new people around me, but I think by having these races abroad, I get to understand how the team works and they’ll get to understand how I work, so it’s the best programme to go and challenge for a title in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB this season.

“I’m confident we can do a good job. Kiern [Jewiss] had a great year and was untouchable in the last two rounds, so I’m looking forward to working with everyone at Team Parker Racing and seeing where I can improve.

“The only goal is the title. It’s not going to be easy, so I’ll be doing everything I can, putting in all the hard work and effort to make that dream become a reality.”
