After a long break, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is back, with Paul Miller Racing taking on the first round of the Sprint Cup Championship at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

The Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio marks the first two-hour, 40-minute sprint race of the season, following two endurance races—The Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring—to start the year.

The Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO will be piloted by full-season Paul Miller Racing drivers Madison Snow and Ohio native Bryan Sellers. The 2018 championship-winning pair finished third in their last trip to Mid-Ohio together en route to that title. Sellers additionally finished third in 2019 with then-co-driver Ryan Hardwick.

“Historically, we’ve had good showings at Mid-Ohio since the track returned to the schedule in 2018 with two podiums in two races there,” Paul Miller Racing team owner, Paul Miller said.

“We didn’t get a chance to come here last year, so we’re very excited to be heading back as part of the 2021 season. It’s a home race for Bryan and so we always have a lot of fans cheering for us in Ohio.

“It’s also very exciting to get the Sprint Cup underway this year, the shorter races present a different dynamic for every team on the grid. It should be a very competitive two hours and 40 minutes!”

Paul Miller Racing sits seventh in the IMSA GTD Championship points, bolstered by a third place finish at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, a race which the team won in 2020.

Bryan Sellers

“This is such an important race to me. Having grown up in Ohio, it will always hold a special place in my heart.

“There is always a really remarkable feeling as you go into your home race, it feels like you finally get the opportunity to share what you get to do with all your friends and family who have supported you over all the years. We have had some success over the years at Mid-Ohio, and after our results in Sebring we are hoping to rebound and get things moving in the right direction.”

Madison Snow

“Mid-Ohio is a special place to me. It’s where Bryan is from, where he still has a lot of friends who come cheer us on. His parents Doug and Barb live in that state, so it feels like a family outing. The last time we raced there as a duo, we were on the podium, and that will be the aim for this weekend as well!

“It’s a good track for the Lambo. There are a lot of corners and some heavy brake zones which play to the strength of the Lamborghini so I think we will have the opportunity for a good result there.”
