Following the brilliant last year’s debut when he secured the seventh overall position, Edoardo Liberati returns this weekend to Bathurst 12 Hour, first round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge. Once more the Rome-based racer will contest the Australian event driving a KCMG-run Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 car, sharing the duties with Swiss Alexandre Imperatori and Brazil’s João Paulo de Oliveira in an all-Pro crew.

The Bathurst 12 Hour kicks-off the 2020 season of Liberati, who is set to face multiple-commitments for the Hong Kong’s team, including the entire VLN Championship and 24 Hours Nürburgring.

“In the 2019 edition a drive through prevented us to achieve a podium. This year we’ll try to finish in a better position as we have more experience”, Liberati commented, “It’s very important to make as few mistakes as possible, with the better strategy in terms of managing stints and fuel saving to gamble it all in the very last hour. Furthermore we have to consider the safety car factor, as neutralazions are very frequent in this race”.

“The Mount Panorama track is absolute unique, probabily one of the most difficult and fascinating world’s circuits alongside Macau and Nordschleife. Nissan showed to be competitive there”, the Italian driver added, “Due to the hot weather the race will be very tough. I am prepared for that”.

With a 39-car starting grid, the Bathurst 12 Hour will start on Sunday at 5,45 am local time. Free practice commence on Friday. Qualifying are scheduled on Saturday.
