DAYTONA BEACH, FLA (Aug 2, 2018) – The Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series will set up camp this weekend at America’s National Park of Speed, Road America, for Rounds five and six of the 2018 Super Trofeo season.  For Corey Lewis and the No. 29 Change Racing, Lamborghini Charlotte, it’s an opportunity to finally stand atop the podium at the historic North American circuit.

“Coming back to Road America is great,” Lewis said. “It’s one of those historic tracks that you always want to win at. This circuit always produces very good racing with massive drafting opportunities with big brake zones that allow great passing.  I’ve always had good success at this circuit, but the top step has been something I’ve been fighting for.”

This season just might be the one where Lewis can break through. The opening rounds of the 2018 season at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course saw Lewis, with co-driver Madison Snow, sweep both races in the Pro class. After solid top-five runs in Rounds 3 and 4 at Watkins Glen International, the duo lead 2017 Pro-Am class champions Edoardo Piscopo and Taylor Proto driving the No. 50 US RaceTronics, Lamborghini Beverly Hills entry by two points in the Pro class championship standings as we near the halfway mark of the season.

“It’s wild to think we are already at the half way point of this year’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo Championship,” said Lewis. “Heading into every race weekend, I’m always thinking points… Some weekends we may need to grab what points we can and get through the weekend. Of course as a driver, you want nothing but a win, but in racing, you never know what the weekend may bring.

“At Change Racing with Lamborghini Charlotte, we come in with the mind set of giving everything we got. Be perfect. No mistakes. And then ideally, that results with a finish on the podium.”

Change Racing enters the weekend at Road America as one of only two single-car teams, and the only one of those running in the premier Pro class. Despite what might be viewed as a disadvantage, Lewis and Snow are enjoying the focused effort to their championship aspirations.

“This year we are a small one-car team, but we still pack the overall-win punch,” Lewis said. “Not having a second car sometimes limits us on the setup changes and data. But having just our one car allows us to really focus in on what our needs are to maximize our performance on track. Teaming up with Madison Snow has been great this year. We have virtually the same driving style and we give identical feedback which helps our engineer fine tune the setup.”

Lewis, like his teammate Snow, competes in other IMSA-sanctioned series, but credits the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series with providing him with some of his best opportunities.

“The Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series is what gave me the most traction and allowed me to broaden my horizons and be a part of the Lamborghini Factory effort, being one of the only American Lamborghini Development Drivers,” said Lewis. “It allowed me to jump into the (IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship) GTD paddock which provided the opportunity to get into history books with a win at VIR (in August, 2017) and the historic 12 Hours of Sebring (in March, 2018).

“I thoroughly enjoy running in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series. The cars look amazing especially with the new addition of the EVO Body kits. The networking and hospitality allow sponsors to mingle in the paddock. Our Change Racing dealer principle, Lamborghini Charlotte, is able to bring in existing and new possible Lamborghini enthusiasts in and give them a very cool experience at the track! Last, but not least, we put on a heck of a show with the two-race format!”

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo event weekend at Road America gets underway with a pair of practice sessions on Friday, followed by qualifying for both races on Saturday at 9 a.m. ET/ 8 a.m. CT with Race 1 on Saturday at 3:05 p.m. ET/ 2:05 p.m. CT and Race 2 on Sunday at 11:55 a.m. ET/ 10:55 a.m. CT. Both 2018 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series races can be streamed on IMSA.TV and squadracorse.lamborghini.com/super-trofeo/north-america.
