Following the traditional Drivers’ Parade in downtown Le Mans, and completing the Saturday morning warm-up session, the start of the 2019 Le Mans 24 Hours dawns for Larbre Competition.

Having used practice and the three qualifying sessions to set up the car, drivers Erwin Creed, Romano Ricci and Nicholas Boulle headed to downtown Le Mans to be greeted by the enthusiastic fans for the traditional Drivers’ Parade.

In Saturday morning’s 45-minute warm-up session the team ran Boulle, who completed a quick shakedown of the #50 Ligier JS P217 following a scheduled gearbox change on Friday.

The Val de Vienne-based squad will line up 28th out of 61 cars for the 87th running of the Le Mans 24 Hours, where Boulle will take the start for a triple stint, followed by Creed then Ricci.

At 15:00 local time Charlene, Princess of Monaco will wave the famous Tricolore to signal the start of the twice-around-the-clock-event.

Jack Leconte, Team Manager: “We have checked all the settings on the car and we still have a few minor points we need to adjust following the gearbox change, which was done yesterday as planned. We also checked other settings like the ride height and the general working of the car. Nothing special to report, everything is going well and the warm-up was run without issue.”

Romano Ricci: “The Drivers’ Parade was awesome. It’s easy to forget how many people come to Le Mans but that was a very good reminder! Good luck to Nicholas for the start. I took it last year so I know it can be a challenge to keep your nose clean in the first few corners but I’m sure he will keep out of trouble.”

Erwin Creed: “We’re now awaiting the start of the Le Mans 24 Hours. There’s been a lot of build up to this, including yesterday’s Drivers’ Parade which was fantastic and it was great to see all the fans. We expect our pace to start showing once we’re in race conditions and we’re aiming to go forwards once the lights go out.”

Nicholas Boulle: “It was great to be back on the track this morning. It’s a dream come true to take the start of the Le Mans 24 Hours. Hopefully I will keep it clean amongst the melee in the first few laps. The Drivers’ Parade yesterday was a lot of fun, it’s great to know we have so much support here.”
