Team Parker Racing is very happy to announce that it will be competing in the Le Mans Cup for the 2023 season, with one of its brand-new Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) machines, piloted by Nick Jones and Scott Malvern.

A long-term partnership, Nick and Scott will enter their ninth season together this year, having started in Radicals before joining the British GT Championship in 2016, switching to Team Parker Racing during that campaign.

Ever present at the team since then, they secured the series’ GT4 Pro-Am title together in 2018, took an overall GT4 victory at the Silverstone 500 in 2019, and after stepping up to the GT3 class in 2022, claimed a remarkable overall victory at Donington Park, just their fourth race in the top category.

The Le Mans Cup was created in 2016 and adopted its current format of LMP3 and GT3 class cars competing on track a year later. Races are predominantly 110 minutes in length, featuring a mandatory pit stop and driver change, except for the marquee Road To Le Mans races at Circuit de la Sarthe during the 24 Hours of Le Mans weekend. That event instead hosts a pair of 55-minute contests, with the second race taking place just a few hours ahead of the main 24 Hours.

Nick Jones

“I’m looking forward to the new challenge of racing in the Le Mans Cup this season. We travelled to Portimão at the end of last year and really enjoyed the experience, as well as being made to feel welcome by the organisers. We had plenty of time on track and the car really suited the Michelin tyres.

“We can’t wait to get out on track in the new Porsche 911 GT3 R and are looking forward to competing on such a great list of circuits across Europe, including the two races at Le Mans in June.”

Scott Malvern

“We had a good time making our Le Mans Cup debut at the end of last year and I am really happy that Nick and I will be back for a full season this time out. We didn’t have the best of luck in Portimão but still got to see how a weekend works in the series and enjoy quite a bit of track time which is invaluable for amateur drivers.

“It’s exciting looking at the calendar and seeing all the circuits we’ll be racing on, but the two races at Le Mans will be the real highlight for us and no doubt for everyone else on the grid. I’m looking forward to getting to grips with the new Porsche 911 GT3 R and seeing what we can achieve with it. It’s going to be a great year!”
