Porsche and Ferrari will be represented by top-class teams and drivers in the DTM. Former Formula 1 driver Jack Aitken (27/GB) will drive the new Ferrari 296 GT3 in the internationally popular series, while Porsche lines up with customer teams Manthey EMA, Toksport WRT, KÜS Team Bernhard and six new 911 GT3 R. In total, 13 teams and six different premium manufacturers will battle it out for the title in the 2023 DTM.

Manthey is back in the DTM after an absence of more than 20 years, during which time it has enjoyed great success in the FIA World Endurance Championship, and teams up with Australian outfit EMA Motorsport on its return to the prestigious series. At the wheel of the two new Porsche will be Dennis Olsen (26/N) and Austrian Thomas Preining (24). Last season, both drivers claimed their maiden race wins in the DTM. KÜS Team Bernhard has doubled its efforts in the DTM and will now run two 911s. ADAC Stiftung Sport driver Laurin Heinrich (21) from Würzburg, the reigning champion in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland, will make the step up to the DTM. The second Porsche 911 GT3 R run by the team belonging to two-time Le Mans winner and Porsche brand ambassador Timo Bernhard will be driven by Ayhancan Güven (TR). The 25-year-old gained DTM experience on his guest appearance at the Norisring in 2022 and has two race wins to his name in the ADAC GT Masters. Toksport WRT will contest its first full DTM season with former ADAC GT Masters champion Christian Engelhart (36/Starnberg). The team from Quiddelbach, near the Nürburgring, is also putting its faith in youngster Tim Heinemann. The 25-year-old from Essen was champion in the DTM Trophy in 2020 and 2022.

“2023 heralds a new era for the DTM, and we are well represented from the outset with six 911 GT3 R. In Toksport WRT, KÜS Team Bernhard and Manthey EMA, we have strong partners on board, who we will be supporting in the DTM. Rounding off the great programme are six absolutely top drivers, with a broad spectrum of experience ranging from the Porsche Carrera Cup to many years on the GT racing scene,” says Sebastian Golz, Project Manager Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Emil Frey Racing, the 2022 Team champions in the ADAC GT Masters, will run two new Ferrari 296 GT3. One of the two cockpits will be occupied by former Formula 1 driver Aitken. His team-mate Thierry Vermeulen (20) from the Netherlands will be at the wheel of the second premium Italian sports car. Vermeulen is supported by Red Bull and is the son of Raymond Vermeulen, manager of Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen.
