The Motul Petit Le Mans marked the finale of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season for the all-female Heinricher Racing squad of Katherine Legge, Bia Figueiredo, Christina Nielsen and Simona De Silvestro—the first all-female driving team to compete for a full season in the 50 years of IMSA competition. Legge, Figueiredo and Nielsen drove the No. 57 Caterpillar Acura NSX GT3 in the 10-hour classic, finishing seventh.

The trio battled through 417 laps of flat-out racing that saw the team take 10 pit stops and spend 202 laps in the top five—racing forward into the second position on two different occasions. The Heinricher Racing with Meyer Shank Racing team used fuel savings and tire management as key strategies to move up the leader board through the race and stay in position to battle at the end.

The Jackie Heinricher-led effort is looking forward to next season and building on the solid foundation established this year. Heinricher Racing looks to extend its values to females across all industries both inside and outside of racing.

Team Quotes:

Jackie Heinricher:
“This was a great race and a strong finish for Heinricher Racing in our historic first year. Like all freshman racing teams, we learned so much this year as we experienced the ebbs and flows of the racing season. We know we have the talent for pace and performance. We know we need to raise both to a level of championship consistency. But I am so proud of this group of drivers, our partners at Meyer Shank Racing and the maior support we received from Caterpillar, Acura and ExxonMobil. I’m most proud of what this effort means to the fans and all the young women we met this year. We race for you and we’ll continue to do so.”

Katherine Legge:
“To finish the season with an effort like this is special. We came into this year hoping to highlight and empower females and I think we were able to do that. Petit was a grueling race as it always is, but Bia and Christina both did a fantastic job to have clean, strong stints. I have to thank Jackie Heinricher, Meyer Shank Racing and the entire crew for all of their hard work this season.”

Christina Nielsen:
“I think today, and this entire season, everyone did their best and did everything they could. It wasn’t perfect but there were a lot of good elements today. I’ve learned a lot being with Heinricher Racing and Meyer Shank Racing this season so I want to give a huge shoutout to the team for having me onboard. I really enjoyed it and I look forward to celebrating the team and the championship-winning sister car at the banquet.”

Bia Figueiredo:
“First I’d like to thank Heinricher Racing, Meyer Shank Racing and Caterpillar for inviting me onboard this amazing all-female team. I got to know both Katherine, Christina, Simona and Jackie throughout the season and they are all amazing, hard-working women who have been so successful in each of their own careers. I’m so thankful to be a part of this team. Of course, we wanted a win and a podium today but things didn’t work out for us. It’s been a great year and I’m so thankful to be a part of this team.”
