Snetterton was the venue for the second round of the new Ferrari Challenge UK 2019 series, in which 20 Ferrari clients competed in Race 3 and Race 4 of the 8 race championship. Jason Baker (Dick Lovett Swindon) had another stellar weekend in the Trofeo Pirelli category, taking two Pole Positions and two Race Wins on Saturday and Sunday, ahead of Jamie Clarke (Stratstone Manchester) who once again pushed Jason right to the chequered flag in a repeat of the season opener at Brands Hatch. This means Jason Baker extends his lead in the Championship, with four wins from four races.

The Coppa Shell class was equally hard fought, with Richard Guy (Charles Hurst Belfast) taking the overall class win on Saturday, despite starting 13th overall and 5th in class – marking the first time he’s stepped onto the podium this season. The trophies in the Coppa Shell class on Sunday went to Gary Redman (Graypaul Nottingham), Toby Flannagan (Maranello Sales) and Alex Moss (Graypaul Birmingham). This means there have been four different winners in four races in the Coppa Shell class, with Gary Redman and Toby Flannagan both taking four podium finishes in the first four races of the year.

Also on display were several cars from Ferrari’s current model range, including the multiple award-winning Ferrari 488 Pista with its twin-turbo 3.9-litre V8 engine which has been voted the Best Engine of the Past 20 Years by the International Engine of the Year Jury. The 488 Pista was joined by the 812 Superfast, the GTC4Lusso V12 and the Ferrari Portofino.

The Ferrari Owners Club GB were also taking part in the event at Snetterton, with three races over the weekend for Ferrari models which pre-date 1999 in the Pirelli Ferrari formula classic series. Wayne Marrs proved to be the class of the field, taking wins in all three races in his Ferrari 355 Challenge, making it five wins from six races so far this season. The Pirelli Ferrari formula classic series will also be supporting the Ferrari Challenge UK series at the next two rounds, at Croft in July and Silverstone in September.
