  • Sixth place for the #13 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of AutoArena Motorsport
  • Class victory in SP10 for the #163 Mercedes-AMG GT4 of BLACK FALCON Team IDENTICA
  • Second VLN victory for the Mercedes-AMG GT4 in the SP10 class

Nürburgring – The Nürburgring provided excellent conditions for the fourth season round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft. A total of 134 cars, including one Mercedes-AMG GT3 and three Mercedes-AMG GT4, took the start of the 49. Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy in bright sunshine and with summerly temperatures on Saturday at noon.

The #13 AutoArena Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 started the four-hour race from eleventh on the grid. After a turbulent opening stage with several code-60 phases, starting driver Patrick Assenheimer was able to make up several positions during the first half of the race. He handed the Mercedes-AMG GT3 with starting number 13 to Christian Hohenadel while in fifth place. The German built on the good performance by his teammate and finished the race in sixth position. This sixth place already marks the eighth top ten result for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport in this year’s VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft.

Class win for the Mercedes-AMG GT4 Stefan Karg, Fidel Leib and Moritz Oberheim showed a convincing performance in the hard-fought SP10 class. Starting driver Stefan Karg drove the first stint in the #163 Mercedes-AMG GT4 entered by the BLACK FALCON Team IDENTICA from 34t place on the grid. From the very beginning, he established himself among the front runners in the SP10 class and the team staged a thrilling battle for a podium finish. With around one hour remaining, the #163 Mercedes-AMG GT4 took the lead and went on to score a popular SP10 class victory with 27 laps completed. In the overall classification, the team ended up 22nd. For the BLACK FALCON Team IDENTICA, this already is the second SP10 class victory after its first place in class in the VLN season opener.

The next VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft round will take place 18 August.

Patrick Assenheimer, AutoArena Motorsport #13: “ I am very happy with today’s driver and team performance. We have made no mistakes, so it was a top race from our perspective. In the next race, we will be attacking again.”

Christian Hohenadel, AutoArena Motorsport #13: “ That was a solid performance by the entire team today. Patrick showed some superb driving. We got everything out of the car, but we will continue to work. With today’s result, we can be happy.”& amp; amp; lt; /p>

Fidel Leib, BLACK FALCON Team IDENTICA #163: “The race was very tough, because it was really close out there. It was a hard battle that we eventually were able to decide in our favour. We have a well-balanced trio of drivers, all three have done a really good job. The team put in good work again as well, the mechanics delivered a tremendous performance in the pit stops. After our unfortunate retirement from VLN 3, we came back strongly. We were able to convince our class victory from the season opener, the first class win worldwide, and we have shown that we are rightfully on top.”
