Team Parker Racing is very pleased to announce that young Irish racer Robert Cronin and Welshman John White will race in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB for the 2023 season, part of a four-car line up as the series joins the ‘TOCA’ package full time.
Swansea-based businessman John took part in his first campaign of competitive racing last year, claiming six Am class podiums with second place finishes at Croft and Donington Park, despite taking part in just five rounds of the campaign.
Robert, who is 18 years old and from Ballylickey in County Cork, has recently competed in IAME Senior X30s in karting. He is one of four racing brothers, who compete at all levels from karting through to international rallying.
The Porsche Sprint Challenge GB benefits from a permanent place on the ever popular ‘TOCA’ package for 2023, racing in support of the British Touring Car Championship which features average crowd sizes of close to 40,000 fans each weekend.
In 2022 the series offered up £32,000 in end of season prize money, with a holiday for two to the Cayman Islands for seven nights for the Pro and Am class champions. It will also compete alongside the Porsche Carrera Cup GB for four of its six meetings, giving drivers a chance to explore the next rung on the marque’s UK ladder.

“I wanted to move on from karting and we got to know Matt Griffin who is experienced in motorsport. We told him that we wanted to move into car racing, so he looked into it for us, came back with several options, and the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB with Team Parker Racing was the best choice for us.
“We’ll have to see how far we get, but it means there’s the option of moving up to the Carrera Cup in the future and remaining on the TOCA package. I’ve only had a few days testing so far, but it’s a nice car to drive and I’m looking forward to getting the season underway.”
John White
“I really enjoyed last year, my first in the Sprint Challenge, and I’m looking forward to getting back on track in the Cayman this season. I learned a lot during my first full year in the car and I know consistency is key, so that’s one thing I will be concentrating on this time out.
“I don’t want to make any predictions and I don’t have any real goals for how things will turn out. I just want to carry on enjoying racing this great car and see what comes at the end of it!”
