Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac drivers Kevin Magnusson, Renger van der Zande and Scott Dixon are leading the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Rolex 24 At Daytona 16-hours into the race.

The front running 01, 31 and 48 Cadillac DPi-V.R race cars have run through the night without a major incident. The No. 5 Mustang Sampling Cadillac was collected in a two car GT spin in Turn 1 at just past midnight and went down 46 laps due to rear suspension damage.

Kevin Magnusson, No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R, running first:“It is going pretty well at the moment. We are running at the front. I have really enjoyed it – a cool experience. The Cadillac has been fast and reliable for the first 16-hours of the race and hopefully we can finish off strong.”

Felipe Nasr, No. 31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac DPi-V.R, running second:“Car is great. I think it is coming to us, the track the conditions and the balance of the Whelen Cadillac. I was able to recover a lot of time during my stint in the early morning. Traffic has been very difficult all race. I feel like we have a good shot. The car is in great shape for the end.”

Kamui Kobayashi, No. 48 Ally Cadillac DPi-V.R, running fifth:“So far it is ok. There’s still a long way to go. We are in good shape. Still a long way, which means we have to do our best to bring the car home. The Ally Cadillac is in very good shape and we just need to keep pushing and keep the car in good shape for the finish.”

Loic Duval, No. 5 Mustang Sampling Cadillac DPi-V.R, running seventh:“Unfortunately, our race is not going so well. It was looking good and then not so well in the night. We were fighting at the front for the first six-hours. Then, two GT cars had contact going into Turn 1 and Tristan tried to go to the outside and they spun and hit him. We lost 46 laps doing repairs. We are still running in case someone has problems maybe we can make-up one or two positions. Motivation is low as the moment as it looks like the Cadillac is the car to have.”
