Chinese internet sensation Liu Zexuan has joined the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup’s eighth season to compete in the GT4 Cup. The 30 year-old driver will be aiming to build on his impressive Cup debut in 2018 with Absolute Racing, when he secured back-to-back wins in Shanghai. Liu has become an online celebrity in China, appearing in a number of popular online reality shows, winning himself a legion of fans and followers.

In his new role with Audi, he will also represent Audi Sport customer racing Asia as an ambassador in China, the brands’ largest market worldwide.

“We warmly welcome Liu Zexuan into the Audi Sport customer racing Asia family. As well as being a key influencer in the online world, he is also a serious driver on the race track, sharing our passion for racing and innovation” said Martin Kuehl, Director of Audi Sport customer racing Asia.

“I’m really excited to join the 2019 Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup. I drove the Audi R8 LMS GT4 with the Cup last year and loved the car, so I can’t wait to get back into the cockpit in Adelaide for the season opener,” said Liu Zexuan.

The Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup’s eighth season gets underway at the iconic Adelaide 500 in Australia with rounds one and two. The championship then returns to its home in China for double-headers in Zhuhai and Shanghai. Rounds seven and eight will be held in support of a major event on the Audi Sport customer racing calendar at the Intercontinental GT Challenge’s Suzuka 10 Hours in Japan before the season closes out in Sepang, Malaysia.

The Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup is operated by Audi Sport customer racing Asia.
