Cetilar Racing made a good debut in the FIA WEC, taking today the eight best time in the LMP2 qualifying at Silverstone. On British soil, Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi completed a promising first part of the weekend.
Despite a well known technical gap, the all-Italian team supported by AF Corse continued its developing work with the brand-new #47 Dallara car, being confident in a good pace for the tomorrow’s 4-hour race.
“I am extremely satisfied about the qualifying. Today we obtained the best result we could, exceeding our expectations”, Andrea Belicchi commented, “That means we are working in the right direction. We know we are not yet highly competitive. On the other hand we also know our gap from the rest of the pack is less in race. We have the right pace, also with old tires and lots of fuel. So we are positive”.
The 4-Hours of Silverstone will start tomorrow at 13 CEST.
