Cetilar Racing completed more than 1,060 kms, covering a total of 228 laps without any trouble as the two-day official Prologue kicked off in Barcelona the FIA WEC season. The all-Italian team continued to develop the brand-new #47 Dallara-Gibson LMP2 car with which Roberto Lacorte and Giorgio Sernagiotto will make their debut in the World Championship, sharing the duties with experienced Andrea Belicchi and taking part in all the 2019-2020 events since the 4 Hours of Silverstone scheduled for early September.
The team worked a lot on the Michelin tyres, different from the ones used in the European Le Mans Series, setting interesting times, with an excellent pace, and taking a best fifth position of category in the last session of the final day. Last but not least it built up great feeling with AF Corse, the new partner that will technically support the Cetilar Racing challenge.
“We are quite satisfied about these two days. We aim to take good results at Silverstone. We focussed on development work, on the tyres and the consistency, more than looking for speed”, Team Principal Philippe Dumas commented, “We perfectly know the level of the series is very high and we have still to improve. Our Bronze driver Roberto Lacorte, showed well. We are pretty confident…”.
A one-month break now follows, before heading to UK where the first out of eight rounds of the intercontinental series will be held.
