After a 69-day break, team Cetilar Racing is back on track as FIA WEC 2019/2020 season resumes this weekend with the Lone Star Le Mans in Austin.

The 6 Hours of COTA, fifth out of the eight rounds’ series, restarts the World Endurance Championship ahead of the 1000 Miles of Sebring, the last of the extra-continental races before the European finale at Spa-Francorchamps and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where Cetilar Racing will make its fourth consecutive appearance.

In Texas, Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi will share the duties in the #47 Dallara LMP2 car run by AF Corse, aiming to confirm the good results in terms of consistency they already had at Silverstone – taking a best sixth place in their class, Fuji, Shanghai and Bahrain.

The all-Italian crew completed all the four races held so far, giving a prove of the Cetilar Racing passion that recently increased its own activity in motorsport with the Cetilar Performance programme that promotes the rise of the young talents extending the number of the karting racers to seven.

“I am very thrilled. This is for me the first time in Austin”, Roberto Lacorte commented, “I hope the weather is cold, to let the tires to work better on our car. As usual we’ll try to do the best.”

“This is the first race of the year, despite it marks the turning point of the season. The balance till now is quite positive”, said Giorgio Sernagiotto, “We’ll try to fight with the rest of the field, although we’ll have Michelin soft tires that not fit well to our car. So we have to work hard to overtake this handicap”.

“I already raced once in Austin. The track is very interesting and various, with a very fast series of esses similar to the Silverstone’s Becketts. Aero is very important here. Michelin will bring a very soft compound, so I wish the weather is cold. Otherwise we could be penalized by the tires”, Andrea Belicchi added.

The Lone Star Le Mans gets underway on Saturday with the two free practice sessions followed by the 20-minute qualifying at 18,10 pm. The race will start on Sunday at 12 pm local time
