Connor De Phillippi qualified the No. 25 MOTUL BMW M Team RLL BMW M4 GT3 fourth in the GTD PRO class for tomorrow’s two-hour-and-forty-minute Michelin GT Challenge at VIR race. De Phillippi recorded a 1:44.791- minute lap around the 3.27-mile, 18-turn VIRginia International Raceway circuit. The Californian will share the car tomorrow with John Edwards. The pair stands fifth in GTD PRO class driver point standings with a season’s-best third place finish at Laguna Seca earlier this year.

In the GTD class, the No. 1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3, of Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow, will start third, following Snow’s 1:45.801 -minute qualifying lap. Sellers and Snow have already clinched the GTD class Sprint Cup Championship. Robby Foley qualified the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 in the seventh starting position with a 1:45.490- minute lap. He will co-drive tomorrow with Bill Auberlen.

Connor De Phillippi (BMW M Team RLL, No. 25 MOTUL BMW M4 GT3 (P4): “Qualifying did not meet our expectations. The track had less grip than earlier today, and I believe we could have been better on the balance of the car. We didn’t quite have the rotation we needed. We’ll take a hard look at the data and have the car ready for tomorrow.”
